Wiki has a good page on the Starfighter HERE – It was a very fast aircraft but very short legged – external stores slowed it down some but the extra fuel helped with the range limitations to some degree – they were used by a variety of countries and I believe Italy used them up until sometime in 2004. There is also a group utilizing them – they did a bunch of airshows with them but I am not sure if they are still doing shows as they have found a LOT of uses for the platform and are staying busy – their website is HERE . . . if they are still doing shows ( and I don’t think they are ) and you ever get a chance to see them do not pass it up – they are impressive – they pretty much run a whole bunch of throttle through the whole routine – staying just under supersonic!! Saw them at OFFUTT AFB years back and they stole the show!!
