Do Filters make a difference?

The simple answer is yes they do . . .

No filters . . .

122.100 – in the air traffic frequencies . . .

And no – I don’t remember what I was looking for here . . .

And the same frequencies with filters in line . . .

After changing the antenna routing the DX Patrol MK4 just is not “happy” with the signal – it just is not doing as well below 30Mhz as the Airspy HF+ Discovery. BUT. I didn’t pick it up for low frequency – bought it for satellite freqs. Once I get settled in the new radio room at the new compound and get some antennas up – then I will explore the satellite stuff.

But to answer YOUR question – yes, filters do make a difference in the scheme of things – they do help eliminate “artifacts” or spatter that you get across the bands from broadcast band interference.
