First order of business – oven to 375 degrees . . .
I used 3 lbs of thick sliced bacon . . .
Then take 2 lbs of light brown sugar – C&H – I mean what else? – or didn’t the programming work on you?

Sugar in a mixing bowl – add 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper and mix well . . .

Cut the slices in half – makes them a lot easier to handle – mix them in with the brown sugar / cayenne pepper . . .

Do not forget to line your cookie sheets with foil – unless you want to buy new cookie sheets – racks on the cookie sheets – sugared up bacon on the racks – pop in the oven for 23 minutes – NOTE : all ovens are different – the 23 minutes at 375 degrees thing works in my oven – you may have to adjust the temp / time thing a little for YOUR oven . . .

Fresh out of the oven ready for cooling . . .

The batch you see below I was was about 90 seconds late getting it out of the oven – it really does not take too much time in the oven to go from this to bacon flavored chunks of carbon – Figure out the time for YOUR oven – then pay attention to the time!

Once the bacon cools down – cut these in half again – throw in a bowl and cover – over night in the fridge – and you have a killer disappearing appetizer – Enjoy!
