The Battle Of Samar – Odds? What are those?

A good presentation of the “Battle of Samar” by Drachinifell – If you like to read I urge you to order a copy of “The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors: The Extraordinary World War II Story of the U.S. Navy’s Finest Hour” by James Hornfischer – I have a copy in the hard bound edition and I have read it multiple times – an incredible TRUE story that rivals any work of fiction out there – truly hard to believe that someone would take a destroyer – let alone a destroyer escort – against that much Japanese warship tonnage – but these guys did it – just WOW!!

Christmas in July Part #1

Depending on you council camping committee either the week after the 4th of July or the following week was Christmas in July week. It was always a fun week – competitions for the best decorated troop site – patrol site – and individual tents – presents – a Christmas dinner – usually was turkey and dressing with all the trimmings on Thursday – one meal you didn’t have to cook at the campsite – and of course Santa . . .

Friday Night Drive In – 4 For You!

Enjoy!
