Few artists have achieved the truly world wide mega star status with a single hit like Heywood Banks and “Toast” – except perhaps – maybe – Del Shannon – but IMHO “Runaway” just doesn’t have the depth / the emotional appeal / the life altering magnificence of “Toast” . . .
The next world shaking / life altering / soon to be released MAJOR motion picture (?) – “Taser Her Again” . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
This is how I learned the essentials – not at Quantico by any stretch of the imagination – but the same style range – and several hard assed instructors over time kept me focused – and Practice – Practice – Practice . . .
learned on two platforms simultaneously – S&W 4″ Model 10 and Colt’s 1911 5″ Government Model – both platforms i still carry to this day . . .

I wondered about a 32acp for the Beretta 80X – it is a blow back operated pistol – actually has a surprising amount of recoil for a 380acp – the nature of the beast . . .
I dug around a bit and came up with Allegheny Arms – I will do a specific post on them them when the 380acp barrel gets here – I screwed up ordering and the folks there were VERY helpful in straightening out the mess I made – LOL!
So here is a quick look at what I have so far . . .
Extended threaded 32acp barrel complete with thread protector – Really Really nice machining – every bit a good as factory – a beautiful and consistent finish – dropped right in and ran good . . .
Really did not “aim” – had just enough time in my running like a crazy person on that day to zoom in and run two magazines ( a basic function check ) – fromGunMagWarehouseof course! – interesting – very interesting. Essentially the same recoil impulse as a 380acp 80X – but – about 1/3 less felt recoil – hope to get out next weekend and swap back and forth between the factory 380acp barrel and the 32acp barrel – a little side by side comparison – but -32acp really makes the 80X a sweet little shooter . . . and the reason i hang a target to do a quick function check? people really give you some strange looks if you just shoot in an empty lane . . .
All ready to go home and get the rubber ducky out and take a bath . . .
Bruce – What are you planning to do with a threaded barrel – One of those EVIL silencers I suppose??First of all – there is no such thing as a “silencer” – that’s hollywierd commie bullshit – they are suppressors! They simply muffle the sound impulse – not silence it!! You can still her the sound of the shot and there is still a loud crack if the bullet is traveling faster than the speed of sound . . .
I like the shirt – but –Why not simply buy the correct magazines??
And then on the way out I grabbed a pic of my Blushing Bride’s current object of want and desire and texted it to her – Heh Heh . . . Pissed her right off I’m here to say – She really wants one but doesn’t want to spend money . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
The key takeaway to all this is the yeast – as I understand what happened – Olympia did not want to spend the money to buy the yeast strain – so Hamm’s just didn’t taste “right” – when Miller bought the beer they also bought the yeast strain from the Hamm’s family – and Hamm’s beer became good again – and that is the key to reviving old beer brands – unless you are able to acquire the original yeast strain – it will never taste right . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!! – and particular yeast strains are NOT
Well it’s bath time again – which means a range trip happened – Yay!
left to right – RIA 1911 / S&W M&P 45acp Compact / S&W 40caliber Shield / Beretta 80X
Oh you dirty little thing . . .
4 mags out of the new Rock Island after the grip replacement – the first 3 mags – Point/Shoot – the last mag I actually let the sights drift into the target picture – the ones in the small center diamond and the 3 drifting down and right . . . I would say the grips and the bit of white paint on the front sights seems to work good . . .
Finally got the S&W M&P out to play – the compact 45acp that I got 6(?) months ago – it runs good – but the recoil on it is more than a Shield in 45acp – go figure . . .
My Blushing Bride even tried out her rebuilt eye ball with the Beretta 80X – not bad considering this is the first time she been able to see good enough to shoot in about three years . . .
And now for something a little different – S&W 40 caliber Shield – but – with a 357SIG conversion barrel – Muzzle blast? – Oh Hell Yes! – Fireball? You Bet! – Distracting on a lit range – will try to get to an outdoor range at night after it warms up this spring and get you folks some video – it should be quite a sight!
Got a really neat range trip coming – taking a safe queen out on a date – only had a box of 50 rounds for it so I really never did a “real” range trip with it – a few rounds here and there – but – I found some in stock and it should be in hand by the weekend. With any room in my schedule ( I thought retirement was supposed to be all this free time and shit! – right? ) I will try for a Tuesday range day – Oh Boy!
All y’all know I shoot a bunch of odd calibers – and they were the first to dry up with the dempanic – some of them were real slow to become available again – but they are dribbling back into the market in big enough quantities they are becoming affordable again – bottom line – you really never know what is going to show up on a range trip!
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
