Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
Just WOW!! I ordered these about 0900 central time Thursday – WOW!

I will get pics as I unbox then upload and start sticking posts together – and yes the rumors are TRUE – Rough Ryder is starting to use VG-10 in a limited way in their line-up. Here’s your homework assignment for the week – What is VG-10? and Why use VG-10? And being the nice guy that I am here’s a link or two to get you started . . .
From WIKI – <<<CLICK HERE >>> and here’s a decent article from Knife User – <<<CLICK HERE>>> and a link into a forum discussion on VG-10 . . .
These links will get you started on a little understanding of VG-10 – NOTICE : There may or may not be a pop quiz and if I were you I would think about there being more than 2 questions concerning VG-10 knife steel on the semester final . . .
And meanwhile I have a fuckton of stuff to do . . .
This showed up today – Eton Elite 750 – my super secret indoor 2nd floor ceiling wire loop works damn good with this – my 20 plus year old radio was the problem ( as I suspected ) and the Eton Elite 750 IS THE SOLUTION!

Now I have little to no excuse for not copying FLASH TRAFFIC – There is a TREMENDOUS amount of information being transmitted continuously on the short wave bands – from licensed stations as well as clandestine stations – and unless Fraulein Goebbels ( you call her whatever ever you want – I will call her by proper name ) is willing to jam the entire electromagnetic spectrum – I assure you the signal will not be stopped . . .
. . . Jean a de longues moustaches . . .

Good assortment here – Enjoy!

And the Chevy II also had an optional V-8 – and they were real burners!!

This should ring a bell – Unless you grew up in a vacuum chamber . . .
Enjoy!

The Buck Selkirk has been out for quite awhile and went completely by me – never knew that a “Selkirk” even existed. Was stumbling through my local big box sporting goods store and spied one in the case – and I’m like “What’s that? – can I see it? – take my money!” – poor kid didn’t quite know what to do – it was a tough selling situation – LMAO! . . .
Cabela’s is chuck full of just about everything you can think of except sales people – they have a store full of clerks – but there isn’t one out of a thousand in there selling . . . Oh well – bitch mode off . . .
Here’s what you get – an injection molded sheath and a ferro rod that even has a whistle – hell if I know . . .
The knife is way cool – Buck’s 420HC steel full tang stainless steel drop point blade with a satin finish and CNC contoured Micarta handles – and it feels good in the hand . . .

No hot spots – the gimping on top of the blade gives good thumb traction if you want to get “up” on the grip – the grooves give your hand traction with zero hot spots . . .
Here’s a look at both sides for you . . .

A really good looker – and as chintzy as the sheath is – Buck put a twist locking feature on the ferro rod and holder . . .

And about the “adjustable” sheath thing ? – if you have a lot of time and can think in multiple dimensions AND have the patience of either a saint or my Blushing Bride and it just won’t fit on your belt then dive in – otherwise just don’t screw with it – it’s way much more complex than it needs to be . . .

Weight w/sheath . . .

And the knife by itself – that sure is a good looker and yes I plan on cleaning the scale sometime this year . . .

Well here we go – Great little camp knife – drop point with plenty of belly really works well for kitchen/cooking tasks – much better than a folder – no harborage areas ( nooks and crannies ) for food particles to hide in and create a bacteria issue and easier to clean – sharp AF right out of the box – the micarta scales are as good looking as they are functional – the satin finish on the blade is sweet – and it just feels good in the hand – rope cutting – feathering a stick for tinder – I think this would do good at just about any camp task you would want to utilize it for – and before YOU go there with it – go get a hatchet or an axe – that’s what THEY are designed and made for – don’t abuse your knives!
The only ding is the sheath is kinda chintzy – the only other downside for some folks is it’s made in China – but it comes with Buck’s forever warranty – so there’s that . . .
The Buck Selkirk #863 for $70 bucks? YOU haven’t bought one yet because? . . .
What’s in YOUR pocket? ( or on YOUR belt? )

Folks – this one really caught me by surprise – Comes in the red/brown box – nothing special – right?

Nice touch – it comes with a sheath . . .

Sorta blends right in with the rest of the boys . . .

But there the similarity ends. I am almost at a loss for words – yeah I know, shocked – right? Everything about this lockback drips quality – the fit and finish equals ANYTHING I have – up to and including those tiny little stupidly expensive Boker knives and the Hen&Rooster pen knives – this was totally unexpected . . .
One of the guys at work is like – “Once the plating starts coming off the blade it won’t look good anymore” He didn’t quite know what to say when he figured out that it is polished not plated . . .

If you HAD to ding it – the blade to lock mating surfaces are not quite flush with one another – the blade got a little to much “fitting” and the mating edges got rounded slightly . . .
Same view – where the bone scale on the right matches the bolster – again somebody got a wee bit enthusiastic with the fitment sanding . . . It’s actually hard to see unless the light is just right . . .

Here’s you a lock at the nickel silver bolsters and jigged bone ( not plastic ) scales . . .

And the polish on the blade is hard to believe . . .
It’s that good . . .

You don’t realize how good it feels/handles until you go back and forth with a different knife – this pic with the Uncle Henry really show how slender it is . . .

Without the weight of the sheath? – 5.4 oz . . .

Bottom line? Jaw dropping fit – finish – overall quality – 440A stainless blade – easy to sharpen and if you don’t beat on it will hold an edge fairly well . . .
And at $16.99 why have you not bought one yet?? <<<CLICK ANYWHERE ON THE HIGHLIGHTED TEXT>>>
I have actually been meaning to grab one for awhile – but they are always out of stock – when I ordered this last pile of knives it was in stock so I got one – and I’m just happy as can be with it.
The Rough Ryder Brown Jigged Bone Large Lockback is in stock right now as I’m posting this – all I can say is don’t hesitate as they tend to go out of stock quickly . . .

These are two of the cutest knives I’ve ever had the pleasure of handling . . .

The Baby Bee and the Bumblebee . . .

In case you folks are thinking – Wait just a minute Bruce – didn’t you give those little one’s away at Christmas?? – Well yes I did and no I didn’t . . .

I gave away Rough Ryder Tadpoles to everyone at Christmas – the next pic shows the Baby Bee’s are yellow and black – not green and black . . .

And the Baby Bee has the same effect as the Tadpole on everybody that handles it – puts a grin on their face – folks just love the little darlings . . .
Here they are – strutting their stuff . . .

And a look at the other side . . .

A look inside . . . Good liner lock engagement and the spring assist opening on both is real snappy . . .

Good fit and finish between the G10 scales and the “chassis” – and only $23.00 for the pair . . .

If you really want to put a smile on someones face – for $9.99 the Baby Bee will do it it without fail – buy 5 or 6 of them and keep them around for last minute gifts . . .
The Bumble Bee is a real nice knife and at just $12.99 makes a really nice gift ( especially for yourself – you know you need one – LOL )– but it just doesn’t have the “cute” appeal of the Baby Bee – but the the pair of them together? – is just way cool . . .
And if you really need the spec’s on these – click through and read to your heart’s content – but the specs don’t rate the fun and cute factor which is just about off the scale – seriously, on a fun/cute scale of 1- 10 – dare I say these are an eleven?? – I really need to get a Bullfrog ordered to go with my Tadpole . . .
