A Question for You Folks

What the harsh reality is – we have had foisted upon us a form of government that isn’t what you think it is – “THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA INCORPORATED” D.B.A. “the government of these several sovereign states” is a corporate entity – not the government as outlined in the constitution – and YOU – YOU – and Yes even YOU have been programmed to believe that you have constitutional rights – NEWS FLASH!! – You don’t have constitutional “rights” – the constitution is a box that is in place to confine government – to prevent government from interfering with YOUR God the Creator given rights – The corporate entity that was created was established to fuck you over royally and make you think they are doing it for your own good – or for the children – or to free the slaves – or to save the environment – or to protect us from ufo’s – or save us from a pandemic that is going to kill everybody – You do realize the gene modification therapy – oops – I meant to say vaccine – has killed more people than the KOOF / CHINK FLU has in the past 15 months – I don’t know about you folks – but I’m having a terrible time sleeping – what with the continual wailing of the sirens from the ambulances hauling all the dead and dying people – by the millions and millions and millions – to the hospitals – But – I said I was was going to ask you a question ( actually three questions ) – and they are rhetorical questions -and I’m simply asking for a friend . . .

Sig P232 / A Blast From the Past / Part One

The little Sig P232 in all its glory – in the red box – factory certified used – with all the usual suspects – and two mags . . .

Sig started this series with the P230 in 1977 – they released a re-design in 1996 – the P232 – The most obvious differences? The front sight is milled as part of the slide – no dovetail – and the slide serrations are fewer and deeper ( and they are great! ) -the magazines have a plastic base plate with a lip for your finger to hang on – changed from a flat stainless base – the changes in the design numbered like 60 – almost all of them were internal . . .

The only way to lock the slide back is with an empty magazine in the pistol and then remove the magazine and pull back on the slide to release – or put another loaded magazine in it – then pull back and release the slide and chamber a fresh round . . .

There is no external slide lock / slide release – there are only 3 external controls besides the trigger . . .

And the trigger on this particular one is sweet – Double Action is 5 1/2 to 6 lbs and smooooth – the single action has a wee bit of take up – you are lifting the firing pin block – and then a clean and distinct break – at just under 2 lbs – I’m talking LIGHT – REAL NICE Single Action trigger pull . . .

#1 -The take down lever . . .

#2 – The decocker . . .

#3 – The magazine release – “European” style – in the heel of the grip . . .

The “stock” grips – rebranded Hogue over molded rubber with good texturing – real nice upgrade from the hard plastic grips on the P230 and some P232’s . . .

Rather than pulling down the trigger guard to facilitate take down – Sig used a take down lever – rotate it down . . .

Pull the slide fully to the rear and lift it off the back and bring it forward – simple as can be . . .

Slide the spring off the barrel and your ready for bath time . . . ( you know I just couldn’t help myself – LMAO! )

A look under the hood – front of the slide is at the top – at about 1 1/2 inches from the very back of the slide you can see the firing pin block – and you don’t see any machining marks – Sig is GOOD STUFF . . .

A look at the feed ramp – virtually no wear on this pistol . . .

A look at the barrel and frame mating – the barrel is pressed in then pinned – it ain’t going anywhere . . .

Are you done with the Barbra Steisand yet Bruce? – How does it shoot??

Real well – thank you very much – the first target is not quite a magazine dump – about 2 rounds a second – bring it up – point – shoot . . .

This next target is one round per second – again – bring it up – point – shoot . . .

With the over molded grips on it – a nice natural pointer – And for a direct blow back pistol – it manages the recoil impulse very well . . .

This is the part where I tell you to rush right out and get yourself one – and if you can’t decide between two of them – buy them both.

Well that ain’t likely to happen here since Sig stopped production on the P232 in 2015 – you see them on Gun Broker every once in a while and they have become pricey – REAL PRICEY . . .

Part Two we are going to compare the P232 with some other options that are available – and when you realize you can get the same basic sized pistol in a 9mm or .45ACP ( God’s chosen caliber as handed down to St Browning – LOL! ) and the fact that there is really not an easy way to go to a larger caliber with a direct blow back pistol – then you begin to realize why Sig let this one go . . .

Buck 639 Field Mate

A quick look for you folks – found another orphan that needed a loving home . . .

The initial clean up came out nice, don’t you think? – I couldn’t make myself take a pic of it when I started – it was being used as a drywall knife / tool – some people’s children – Hell – some people shouldn’t be allowed to have children . . .

It’s actually in good shape for a 1987 knife – if you are curious about how old your Buck knife is << CLICK HERE >> and go to Buck’s website and find out for yourself . . .

The first dressing on the blade brought out 4 or 5 tiny nicks – which is going to take longer than you can imagine to “cure” as the Buck 639 is a very hard steel and does not lend itself to setting the profile deeper into the blade – you would have been hard pressed to cut yourself with it when I started on it – it took about 30 minutes to get enough of an edge on it to find the nicks – you can’t really see them as much as feel them – the only way I got a decent look at them was with a magnifying glass . . .

For 30 bucks what do you expect? I’ll dump 2 to 4 more hours of labor into the edge and probably another hour into cleaning it and end up with a really great knife – in average condition they are moving at about 175 to 200 bucks – but the problem there being if I sell it there is no replacing it with anything equivalent for less than 4 to 6 hundred dollars . . .

I worked in a shop once where some asshole thought it would be funny to switch out the real coffee with decaf – It. did. not. end. well.

My blushing bride was breathing pretty hard when she found out what I paid for some of these – when the single bulb lilies start blooming I will try to get some pics for you folks – I paid a ridiculous price per bulb for some of them but they are incredible . . .

Here’s one of the single bulb plants ( one bulb = one stem = one bloom )

The ones you see in the top pic – up under the flamingo are single stem multiple blooms and they are cool – but the single bloom ones are stunning – the problem in getting pics is the bloom only last a day or three – but I will try to get some pics for all y’all . . .

I’m getting the Sig P232 post ready to go – it will be at least 2 parts if not 3 – going to do something a little different with the post(s) . . .
