One thing SAC lived by – If you fail to plan / you plan to fail – planners spent their entire careers putting “plans” in place to cover virtually any scenario for any situation . . .

And then put training programs together so the response to a given situation would be automatic and consistent throughout the command . . .

If something happened and the planners had not conceived of it occurring and did not already having a plan in place AND people trained for the plan – they got their collective asses in a very tight crack . . .

The current love of the 5 S program by industry? – 5 S is bullshit – SAC had PRIDE – Personal Responsibility In Daily Effort – there was simply no room for error – 100% effort / 100% of the time – if that did not work for you – then trot your happy ass back to the Air Force and finish out your enlistment there – SAC was the the place to be – if you could hack it – tough love and all that stuff . . .

Gen. LeMay chewed on cigars continuously – he even smoked a few – all the cigar chewing? – good practice for ass chewing – just saying . . .

I admit she is not overly enthused about the trip – however I got a rise out of her when I mentioned going through the CZ plant in KC as part of the trip – she be loving her some CZ pistols – LMAO! . . .

The posting has been light – working on a major garage overhaul and have gotten just about done – maybe finish it up this weekend – talk about stepping into a bucket . . .

For a lot of people, government is their imaginary friend. In more ways than one.


“The Government”, as many people seem to think of it, is imaginary. It is not something above and beyond the sick people who populate its buildings and agencies. It is no more powerful than the gang of people who work for it. It is not wise. It is not helpful. It is not one monumental block.
Also, it’s an imaginary friend because it is not your friend. If you act as though it is, you’re going to be taken advantage of and you will be hurt. It doesn’t care about you. It cares about its own power and position over you. The individuals who make up government are more concerned with keeping their paycheck coming than with doing the right thing. Keeping that paycheck coming means keeping government running, which means violating you in whatever way is necessary to that end. It means “nice” government employees will kill you to protect government.
Government is the imaginary friend it’s most harmful to believe in. It’s long past time to grow up and stop believing in it. You don’t need it like you may have when you were immature.
