There IS A Way – The “Thud” in Vietnam

The F105 Thunder Chief was nick named the “Thud” because of the noise they made when they hit the ground – good video – Enjoy!

The F105 was never intended to be used in this manner – it was designed for HIGH speed delivery of nuclear weapons . . .

Just about Done with this Project . . .

What happens when you put a dirty knife up in a leather sheath . . .

Please don’t store your knives in any sheath for any length of time – clean them up when you are finished with them – a light coat of oil – if you are talking a fishing knife or a skinning knife use mineral oil – then store them in a machinist’s style wooden box with felt lined drawers – make sure to leave plenty of space so they don’t “bump” one another – that will damage the cutting edge . . .

They can be brought “back to life” – start with a rust removal product and a wire brush – then get out the belt sander – you just keep scratching it – you just keep replacing the “big” scratches with smaller scratches . . .

240 grit scratches . . .

Replaced with 400 grit scratches . . .

Replaced with 600 grit scratches . . .

Replaced with 1000 grit scratches . . .

Replaced with “coarse” polishing compound scratches . . .

Replaced with a “Polishing” grit compound scratches . . .

Be very careful using a belt sander – the lightest touch is plenty – it is far easier to tease a little more off the surface of the blade then to suddenly realize you have taken too much off . . . Trust Me – that IS a real Oh Fuck moment . . .

Fresh wheels on the buffer then Flitz followed by Simichrome – then a little saddle soap on the leather stack handle . . .

Then set a 20 degree bevel on the blade and sharpen it – and yes I will post pics when it’s all done . . .

If you are thinking about trying something like this – I would recommend to you to pick up a couple of old beaters to practice on before doing something like this to someone’s “special meaning” knife . . .

DKC Wizard Blue Bone Handle Damascus Steel Tanto Folding Pocket Hunting Knife

That’s a whole bunch of name for such a wonderful little knife – didn’t want the pocket clip on it – so I got the one with the sheath / no pocket clip . . .

Ready? – Let’s take a look at the second DKC here – and it’s a beauty! – Thumb stud opening and they even used Damascus steel bolsters . . .

A look at the file work on the spine . . .

One good looker . . .

A look inside – liner lock – better looking on the inside than a lot of knives are on the outside – LOL! . . .

The finger grooves fit and feel real good – Tanto blade . . .

Sharp? – OMG – this came out of the box SHARP! – I mean when you realize how sharp it is – you REALLY focus on handling it – I actually don’t like handing it to people wanting to “see” it if I don’t know how careful they are handling knives . . .

A close up of the laser etched logo . . .

If you’re looking for something a little ( or a lot! ) different in a knife – and you want a good value – cost vs quality – $89.00 for all this goodness! – you need to trot your happy ass over to DKC Knives and check them out – they are also available through Amazon – just make sure you click on DKC for the brand in the side bar . . .

Hen & Rooster Red Bone Lockback – Sweet!

Hen & Rooster never fails to impress – and this little darling is NO exception . . .

Not a big knife by any stretch – just over 3 1/2 inches . . .

And just over 7 inches open – the hardest part was trying to work around the glare – a photographer I ain’t . . .

The jigged bone handles and red dye are made for each other . . .

And a close-up of the emblem side . . .

Expertly hand made in Spain – German steel – Sharp? – straight out of the box it IS sharp – nice little knife – I personally wouldn’t carry it loose in a pocket – keys will scratch it up in a hurry – maybe in a sleeve or on my belt in a sheath . . .

You don’t realize how small it is until you put it next to my “pocket beater” Buck 110 – The Buck is right at 5 inches closed – the little Hen & Rooster is just over 6 inches open – the Buck you know it’s in your pocket – the Hen & Rooster disappears in your pocket . . .

Opened the Buck dwarfs it – and before you say anything – that buck lived in my pocket for 8 1/2 years and took anything and everything in stride . . .

If you want a real nice knife at a good price – Hen & Rooster fits that spot – the only issue I have with them is the fact they are too nice – they fall into the “Sunday go to meeting” classification – If you are looking for something special for yourself or a real nice gift for someone head over to Smoky Mountain Knife Works and pick one – or two – or three – up today – Free shipping over $75.00 – what a deal! – and while you’re there don’y forget to check out the “Flash Sale” – there is a different group of 8 items every day . . .

Seriously thinking about picking up a set of these to give them a test “drive” – I will have to clear it with my CFO – LOL!

Getting Started on My Next Build – I think I will make it Fully Semiautomatic . . .

My newest AR lower – can’t wait to to get it started . . .

Ain’t she a purty little thing . . .

Why just a wee bit of <<< This Action >>> and a wee bit of <<< That Action >>> and I will have me a fully semiautomatic AR lower – able to shoot through any building – knock the space station out of orbit – fire 10,000 round clipazines in 1.3 seconds – OH BOY!

A ghost gun to end all ghost guns . . .

I will have me a firearm to end all firearms – or will I???

Being the nice guy that I am – I am not going to tell you what to think or what conclusions to draw – go read for yourself – HERE – or HERE – See – that wasn’t hard – was it?

Under the ongoing cluster fuck act of treason known as the atf – their own definition states a firearm is 100% a firearm – or it isn’t. Period. End of story. A fully built AR lower is not a firearm – it will not chamber and fire a cartridge without an upper attached to it – an AR upper is not a firearm as it will not chamber and fire a cartridge without a lower attached to it . . .

Several judges are finally starting to hold the atf to their own rules – now we need to address the 2 ton elephant in the room – why are we allowing the atf ( and virtually all other federal “agencies” ) to get away with on going acts of treason?? I’m smply asking for a friend . . .

If I were to go to all the time and effort and start machining assorted “toys” – why would I waste my time building poodle shooters???

The real burning question is how long until common workshop items are banned? Drill presses – Grinders – Files – Common cleaning products – For Fuck’s sake – take a look under your sink! – on second thought don’t look under your sink – if you have ANY knowledge of chemistry it would scare the crap out of you – just saying . . .

Good Stuff from HRFunk – Snubby Revolvers: Obsolete?

Pay attention at about 3:00 minutes in – the vast majority of DGU‘s ( Defensive Gun Use’s ) DO NOT even involve discharge of the firearm! The number one thing is what fits the best – which firearm do you shoot the best? – Practice with it – Conceal it – Carry it – These are the two big issues – figure out what you shoot the best – then figure out the carry method to conceal it – AND Carry IT! – Anyway, enjoy the video . . .

And speaking of snubby’s – Have YOU checked the site out yet?

Got on over and check it out – Good Stuff!! – <<< Just Click and Go >>>
