Friday Music / YOU Wanted MORE Smokie? Here You Go! ( And A Bonus Album for YOU! )

Chris Norman is probably one of the best male vocalist of the soft rock genre – Bertie Higgins is right up there also – at least on my list – Enjoy!

Ready for YOUR BONUS?? – Here you go . . .

The album “Face to Face” –by Suzi Quatro ( “Stumblin’ In” with Chris Norman ) & KT Tunstall and KT is a hell of a performer in her own right – saw KT at the SumTur outdoor amphitheater in Papillion, NE– that was many – many moons ago ( about a 100 or so ) – that venue is still going strong . . .

And if YOU stuck around this long – here’s a reward for YOU!

Tuesday Tunes / 3 From Chris Norman

It’s all I can do to not holler – Who the Fuck is Alice!?!? – LOL!

Okay – A BONUS for YOU! – go ahead and holler – Who the Fuck is Alice!?!? – I know YOU want to – LOL!

You’re Welcome . . .

Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro ( and the song itself ) pretty much became a world wide phenomena with the duet “Stumblin’ In” – the popularity of that song world wide is real close to the magnitude of Del Shannon’s “Runaway” . . .

This song is pretty much a “success” for anyone that performs it with Chris . . .

Let’s Check & Make Sure the Antenna Works ( before the project goes further )

Just a quick prop it up in the corner thing to be sure it all works before mounting everything on a 4×4 sixteen feet off the ground . . .

Fair is fair – the MLA 30+ is inside the house – so there is a decrease in signal and more noise – both oriented about the the same – east / west – Oh My!

I know – I should have taken some video – 12.080 VOA out of Tinang, Philippines – you could more or less tell what you were listening to with the MLA 30+ ( sorta / kinda ) a hard to believe difference with the RF-PRO-1B – about 30% or more signal strength ( which could be inside vs outside ) – no noise ( again inside vs outside ) – very clear modulation – now onto the 4×4 mast part of the project which will also serve for an end point for a 57 foot long wire – I’ve used long wire antennas since 1963 – you really don’t expect me to NOT put one up – do you?

And I had some expert radio engineering help . . .

With any luck and with expert help – LMAO! – I will get everything ready by the weekend – also working on the MLA 30+ portable mount – so hopefully I can compare them to each other in a more apples to apples way . . .

DXE-RF-PRO-1B Antenna to Mast Assembly

Relatively straight forward – just one little oops on DX Engineering’s side of the fence – and a little tedious getting the nylon washers installed – altogether not bad . . .

The instructions did a really good job explaining the assembly – just don’t tell Red that I followed the instructions – my Possum Lodge membership possibly would be in jeopardy – LOL!

Ready to start – Oh Boy! . . .

And the little oopsie – the nut holding the “F” connector / circuit board was not tight . . .

The nuts holding the mounting bracket to the antenna assembly junction box were fine . . .

Snugged it down and put the junction box cover back on – making sure the cover gasket was in place and then on to the finicky nylon shoulder washers – the amplifier box itself must be isolated from the mast bracket since the mast bracket and rotator will be earth grounded . . .

Ready to mount to the rotator/4×4 mast assembly – YAY! . . .

And yes I will check the antenna to make sure it is functioning before I put “It” and the 4×4 up as a finished assembly – just saying . . .
