Craving the Diablo! Recreating Smokey and the Bandit’s Classic Sandwich

Not What You Think : Crystal Palace Transmitter – The Phoenix Tower

When you say “Crystal Palace” here is what most folks think . . . The “Phoenix Tower”? Must be some part of the HFGCS – right? Not hardly . . .

Back when radio was king – you had the BBC World Service on shortwave – depending on which era you listened – one of these might ring a bell – YOU see what I did there – right?

When television became king – the BBC television service had the moniker ( always wanted to use that word in a post – LOL! ) “Crystal Palace” – and the transmission tower became known as the “Phoenix Tower” – Enjoy!

Spy Radio & Indoor Antennas – If they can do it, so can you!

At this point – weathered in for the season – indoor antennas is where I are stuck at – But Bruce – Indoor Antenna?? – Can’t possibly be any good, can it? Well it is working out for me – and has worked for a long time for a lot of folks . . .

Loop On Ground Antenna – All 4 Parts – Start to Finish

Did several of these over the years – not this fancy – they were just a loop of wire – no isolation transformer – real temporary set up – camping weekend thing – and they actually work!

Don’t really have the physical layout to do this in this exact manner – but the thoughtsoh the thoughts concerning this and how to set it up here . . .

The other thing I want to try is two ground rods about 30 feet apart – one is the ground side ( or braid side of the coax ) and one is the feeding to the center conductor, Hmmm?

What do YOU think?? Feasible??
