Had some Christmas sharpy pointy “stuff” to order from SMKW – and the Zorro 100th Anniversary Bowie ( RR2937 ) was in stock – and what do you know? – click click click and it showed up – Amazing how that works . . .
The art work on the box is real neat . . .

And you get the Zorro “story” on one of the sides . . .

The box art work is repeated on the knife . . .

Comes with a sheath of course . . .

Good size – gives it a real good feel in the hand . . .

Good job on the blade art work . . .

The handle has some very cool and nice detail . . .

The back side of the blade is almost a brushed stone wash – good looking and very consistent . . .

And it even comes with a desk top stand for display . . .

And whether you remember the radio shows / the big screen movies – old or new / or the TV shows – here’s YOUR chance to hold these memories in your hand . . .
Folks – this sorta stuff sells out in a hurry around Christmas time – it’s in stock right now – just saying . . .

The Sony ICF2010 was a very good radio when stacked against its contemporaries – Very Good. In the “portable” class it was hard to beat. Finding them nowadays in GOOD shape? Good luck to you – the most common issue is an intermittent display.
I really got lucky with mine – my buddy “Asian girls in bubble baths” Greg came up with this and sold it to me for an incredibly reasonable price.
This 40 plus year old radio will still “get off the porch and run with the big dogs” – but – I really don’t use it much anymore . . . SDR’s are just about the way to go for “desk top” use and the extremely portable XHDATA D-808 will pretty much ( with some compromise – one thing – the speaker could be better ) run with the Sony.
What gets to these is the ribbon cables become brittle and the wrong bump at the wrong angle and it is pretty much done – watch the video when he pulls the back to see the cables – and there aren’t any more replacements available . . .

Enjoy the video . . .

Did you ever wonder what Ron O’Neal did before he was the exec on the Nimitz ( “The Final Countdown” )? He was Superfly ( Youngblood Priest ) . . .
How many of you folks have guessed the “theme” yet?
For those of you who haven’t yet guessed – these are all fifty ( 50 ) plus years old – all plucked from Billboards Year-End Hot 100 Singles for 1973 – and if you don’t feel old enough yet – Jim Croce died in a plane crash September 20, 1973 – just over fifty plus years ago . . .

Most of you folks with any age on you remember Hopalong Cassidy on the big screen from Saturdays at your local movie house and I’m sure there are some of you out there who may even remember “Hoppy” from the radio shows . . .
Well SMKW has not forgotten “Hoppy” – they produce one of the coolest “novelty” knives out in the wilds – The Hopalong Cassidy Bowie knife ( RR1927 ) – and obviously from the title of this post that’s what we are looking at today . . .
And the box itself is way cool – and quite large – the reason for that will be obvious . . .

And considering the $30 dollar price point – the art work on the knife is really neat!

Even the rustic – almost period correct handle is engraved . . .

Even the blank side of the blade is nicely finished – not a high polish – but still a good looking consistent finish . . .

The reason for the large box?
The knife comes with a wall mount display – which for me just pushes the cool factor way up on the scale . . .

The blade is 440a – nothing fancy but it’s functional – it is sharp and can be used to cut “stuff” with – but why? And the scales are nothing exotic – just “wood” – but they look and feel good – and the Bowie balances pretty good . . .
Not really a practical knife – but the cool factor of it hanging on YOUR wall – Oh Hell Yes!
But Wait! There’s more!!
While ordering a few more sharpy pointy Christmas gifts I realized the Zorro knife was in stock – I was like click click take my money . . .

At the time of this posting both of these are in stock – and I know they sell the dickens out of these for Christmas gifts – so if YOU are thinking of something special AND different for someone ( or yourself – LMAO! ) for Christmas – Don’t hesitate . . .
Do you think a post on the Zorro knife might be coming? Heh-Heh . . .
