We got a look at a pair of JC Higgins .22 rifles awhile back — HERE — the extractors on both are wore out – got with the owner and he wants to fix it up – it will go on to teach a fourth generation to shoot!! – with minimal care – guns are forever – only two enemies – politicians and rust!!

Stripped the bolt down – the pin holding the extractor just would not move – however – just a few tiny drops of this . . .

And 45 minutes or so later the pin came out nice and easy – Kano Kroil is the bestest stuff out there . . .
Here is a close up of the extractor – note the “nubs” that engage the rim of the case are wore completely away . . .

Here is the replacement part . . .

Wee bit of difference – the replacement part is a little easier to fabricate thus the difference in appearance/profile – and it has nubs!! Will get the part ordered this weekend and then get the rifle stuck back together . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
