I listened to the “Grand Ole Opry” on an old Hallicrafters – about a hundred foot of stranded copper for an antenna – 8 foot copper rod pounded in the ground – spring / summer / fall you would take the hose and wet the ground around every 4 or 5 days – Working WSM out of Nashville was easy – good times . . .
