Finally got a chance to get the H&R 922 out and shoot it – absolute hoot – I ain’t saying the front sight is hard to pick up – but . . .
Even Jacques had a hard time with them – I sure don’t remember the sights on these being that hard to see 50+ years ago – LMAO!
Although he didn’t do bad at all . . .
Harrington & Richardson revolvers are good stuff to this day – well made . . .
On to the 732 – built like a tiny little tank – chambered in the mighty 32 S&W Long – I even found a couple of boxes of wad cutter for it – it prints a “little” high . . . Some Double action – my aiming point was 6 o’clock on the red center . . .
And some single action – The six across the top were with a 6 o’clock hold on the center – the rest were fired using a hold just above the outer yellow ring – about halfway between the H&R emblem on the grip and the grip screw is on the target – about 3/4 of an inch above the bottom edge of the target!
And last but certainly not least the 926 – chambered in the powerhouse 38 S&W . . .
Where’s the target Bruce?? – Well . . . it’s kinda hard to take pictures of a target that you put a bunch of holes in if you don’t remember to take a box of ammo . . . And Jacques did not have a box of 38 S&W on hand – I don’t know why – He must get a call for it at least every couple of years or so – you would think he would keep 20 or 30 boxes on hand! – LOL – Anyway – have a pic of it . . .
Old closet queens are great fun – you don’t have to have the latest and greatest fully semi-automatic bullet hose to have a good time at the range – and there are literally 10’s of thousands of these out there just waiting to be cleaned up and appreciated once more – Harrington & Richardson made something like 40 or 50 different models of 22 rim fire revolvers alone over the years – and a whole lot of others in various calibers – they are kind of like potato chips – you can’t eat just one . . .
And if you are not sure about one being in firing condition – please get it checked by a competent gun smith – and if you need one of those fellas -they can hook you up with one at INNER10 – the few dollars you spend at that point is a whole lot cheaper than a trip to the ER – although hard to find currently 32 short – 32 S&W Long – 38 S&W – are all still available and they are fun to shoot – if the sun is just right, you can actually see the 38 S&W heading down range – and recoil on these is negligible . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
