I Committed 2 Acts of Sacrilege

I dug out my Blushing Bride’s pair of 1911’s and went to the range and ran through about 150 rounds – of 9mm – yes I know. 9mm in a 1911 platform is sacrilege – and I shot 2 of them – but it was FUN . . .

First the Colt – 10 yds – 2 mags aimed fire . . .

7 yds – 2 mags – rapid fire . . .

The next 3 are single mag dumps at 7 yds . . .

Same course of fire with the Fusion – 2 mags – 10 yds – aimed fire . . .

2 mags – 7 yds – rapid fire . . .

The next 3 are single mag dumps at 7 yds . . .

As crazy as it sounds – the faster I shoot – the better I shoot – it all hinges on how you train . . .

Try as I might I simply can’t warm up to the Colt . . .

The Fusion – that’s a whole different story – much better feel to it – I need to take about 500 rounds and several hours and just shoot the snot out of it – As much as I don’t care for europellets – I believe I could get pretty spot on with the Fusion – I am seriously thinking about picking one up in .45ACP ( God’s chosen caliber, as handed down to St. Browning – LMAO! )

Now comes the second best part of shooting – cleaning the little darlings . . .

The folks at the range had a display with Battle Born grease and a solvent product with it as well – I am all in for the grease – great stuff – so I picked up a bottle of the solvent . . .

I didn’t take any pics of the cleaning process – but . . . The stuff really works good – spray it on and the powder residue that doesn’t run off comes right off with a light scrub with my little battery powered tooth brush – A battery powered tooth brush?? – Damn Bruce you are getting lazy – I’m not lazy – I’m physically efficient – that sounds so much better than saying lazy – and I may even commit yet another act of sacrilege and start using Breakthrough solvent instead of Hoppes #9 – it works that good . . .

I will use the Breakthrough solvent for a while and see how it does – my initial impression is good stuff . . .
