I have grabbed 4 or 5 of KA-BAR’S old school combat knives for folks – retirement gifts / weddings ( don’t ask ) / birthdays – but I finally decided that Bruce needed one and this PARTICULAR variant showed up at SMKW.COM – and then it showed up here – funny how that happened . . .
I know you folks are familiar with the expression “that new car smell” – well let me tell you – if you ever pop the top off the box of a new KA-BAR combat knife – you will experience that “new knife smell” – and it is simply wonderful – just about an olfactory overload . . .
At over 12 inches it’s not really a “pocket” knife . . .
Typical KA-BAR quality – very few manufactured “things” that you can say “impeccable quality” about – but KA-BAR combat knives are one of them . . .
Smoky Mountain came up with THIS limited edition commemorative <<< CLICK HERE >>>> and I was all in – they are selling the USSF ( United States Space Force ) issue knife <<< CLICK HERE >>> and it is on my radar – I plan on picking one up at some point – but then this came along and I’m like “take my money” – I can resist anything but temptation . . .
From Smoky Mountain : “The KA-BAR USSF Space-Bar Exclusively from SMKW features a 7″ 1095 Cro-Van German steel clip point blade with a black powder coated finish and an SMKW Exclusive brown leather and black coated steel handle. This full tang fixed blade is .16″ thick with a black coated steel guard and pommel. It’s 11.87″ overall and weighs 10.4oz. Proudly made in the USA. Includes a brown leather sheath with belt loop.”
The fit / finish is simply flawless – one of the reasons these cost as much as they do is the number of fingerprints put on it during the build process – every Quality Audit check takes time / time = money – you buy your ticket and you ride the ride . . .
No licking on your computer screen! And if you do I really don’t want to know – just saying . . .
One more look – you can take a shower when your done – LOL!
But Bruce – I can get a “combat knife” for $20 bucks – why spend $75 bucks?
Yes you can get a “copy” for far less – watch this video – it will give you an idea of the differences – and the differences are considerable – even the “feel” between the two is quite noticeable . . .
What’s in YOUR pocket?? – Is that a KA-BAR combat knife or what exactly??
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
