A Rough Ryder with VG-10 Blade Steel?!

VG-10 blade steel is some pretty good steel – and now Smoky Mountain is starting to use it in their Rough Ryder Knives . . .

Blue/Black aluminum scales are looking good – the pics don’t really do it justice . . .

Not the biggest knife on the block at 2 1/2 inches of blade – but a decent size for most everyday pocket knife tasks

The biggest issue you would have is the paint on the scales would get “scritched” up in a big way – and in a hurry – carrying it in a typical pocket full of keys and change – you would want to consider a knife slip like this for EDC to keep it looking good . . .

Well put together little darling . . .

Blade centering is decent . . .

Smoky Mountain now has a total of 36 Rough Ryder knives available in VG-10 Steel and I would not be surprised to see them add more selections in VG-10 -it’s really a good steel if you don’t abuse it . . . and I’m NOT going to launch into a rant about the ways people abuse knives – intentionally or unintentionally – is it a YOUTUBE thing for clicks and views? How stupid can I be with a knife?? Asking for a friend . . .

What’s even more perplexing to me is there are a few of you folks out there who will get upset that I’m not going to rant about it – go figure . . .

This particular little lock back? A good looker – and of course I make it look even better – LMAO! – comes out of the box with a decent edge – not a bad feel in the hand – it is actually kind of nice to grip a knife and not feel like the scale(s) texture is going to leave permanent imprints in the palm of your hand – nice and light weight at 2 oz. – and at $16.99 why don’t you have one?

The only real down tick is you would want to pick up a knife slip so it doesn’t get all dinged up in your pocket . . .

Folks – All y’all need to get over to SMKW.COM and check them out – they are in the middle of their drop a day for May sale and they are featuring Smoky Mountain exclusives for the sale – some really neat stuff . . .

What’s in YOUR pocket??
