Not only were they going in the 60’s – they are still doing it today . . .
The 60’s? – The Hollies! – one of my favorite 60’s groups . . .
And some Moody Blues – a laid aside studio track that wasn’t released until 2007 – “recorded at Wessex Studios – 4th to 9th November 1970. This superb Justin Hayward composition was recorded during the first session for the album that became “Every Good Boy Deserves Favour.” Essentially performed live in the studio, the version presented here features Justin’s original vocal track (treated with a delayed reverb effect) and an extended guitar solo . . .’recorded at Wessex Studios – 4th to 9th November 1970. For comparison – here’s the “normal” track of “The Story in Your Eyes” . . .
I’m not sure which one I like better – they are both good . . .
Humor me on this one folks – I just can’t do anything by the Moody Blues and NOT do this one – ’cause it’s my favorite Moody Blues song AND well up in the “Favorite 50” of mine – one day I might have to do a series of Friday Music posts of My Favorite 50 . . .
From 64 or 65 – Enjoy!!
And when you mention this next one to people they be like “Oh yeah – Phil Collins – Right?” – No – not even close – no cigar . . .
Hard to touch on the 60’s and not do Scott McKenzie’s “San Francisco” . . .
And talking about San Francisco . . .
This could go on all day – but I’ll wrap it up with a couple from “Donovan” – Enjoy the tunes and have a good weekend . . .
Speaking of weekends – I just started an eleven day weekend – I AM enjoying MY weekend – LMAO! – and not from the 60’s – but a GREAT weekend song for YOU!
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
