Eric over at IV8888 (go check him out/videos for days!) does a nice review of the Arex Delta Gen 2 L – which except for size gives you a real good look at the Delta Gen 2 M – when I get the new back straps for mine, it may in fact replace the Delta Gen 1 as my go to choice for carrying a pistol that throws europellets – 9mm for you un-initiated folks – LOL!
Bruce – don’t you ever just shoot for grins and giggles? Either you’re helping someone with their “problem child” or trying to reduce split times and increase accuracy – REALLY? – What about shooting for FUN!?
I freely admit I spend time attempting to improve my skill set, and for me it is fun. But I do occasionally shoot just for the fun of it – and today is one of those days – have some rat killing house and run around stuff to do today and the run around stuff ends with a range session.
And so it is a play day for me . . .
On the left is a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Magnum and it came with the europellet cylinder as well – I added the Altamont grips – Neat ain’t it?
On the right is a Uberti Cattleman Birds head frame 3 1/2 inch barrel – “snubby” – Hey – the barrel is less than 4 inches so that makes it a snub nose in my book – LOL! . . .
The Ruger is a good looker – the grips make it even better – and of course when I carry it it just doesn’t get any better looking than that! – Heh Heh . . .
And the Uberti in 45 Colt/255 grain flat nose is a real thumper – and no I have not gotten so cowboy gun hardcore that I load black powder in the cartridges . . . yet . . .

You folks are in trouble now – I’m going to expose all y’all to some of my thoughts – Consider Yourself Warned! – LMAO!
The Sig has just about everything beat for sheer elegance – yes I said it – elegance – the little darling is a good looker – let’s just get that out of the way right up front. At about 6 1/4 inches long and and 4 1/2 inches tall it’s can fit in a pocket – easy to conceal inside or outside the waist band – and is far better looking “in the flesh” than any picture of it. A lot of people do not like double action / single action pistols – on this you start with a double action pull that averages about 6 lbs – smooth all the way through – after the pistol cycles you now have a single action pull that averages just under 2 lbs – and there is some take up – you have to lift the firing pin block – then a nice crisp break. But you have two different trigger pulls – unless you are willing to take the time to PRACTICE with it – you are going to be inconsistent between your first and second shot – How you say?? – load it – chamber a round – decock it – then start doing the reps – fire two then decock – fire two then decock – fire two then decock – do that 2 or 3 hundred times and you shouldstart to get a feel for it . . .

Just pure sex – and of course I make it look so much better when I carry it – LOL!
That is an Arex Delta Gen 1 virtually hiding under the Sig – Same footprint – Arex / 15 +1 of 9mm vs Sig / 6 + 1 of .380 . . .
The .380 is no slouch – but let’s be honest here – 9mm is a marked improvement ballistically across the board over the .380 – And as this “series” goes on and I compare a few more compact pistols to the Sig, you have to stop and ask yourself “why would I carry this – or any other .380 ??” But there are a number of valid points to be made for .380’s . . .
.380 caliber pistols are generally easier to rack the slide on them (not in the case of the Sig – direct blowback) and easier to carry and manipulate than the larger caliber pistols. Which for older folks with less hand strength is a biggie. The Glock model 42 is a very soft shooter – recoil wise – really good sights out there for it – easy to rack the slide . . .
The .380 pistols do have a place in the grand scheme of things – and IF that is where you go – get out and practice with them . . .
The Arex Delta Gen 1 that was hiding under the Sig – Looks wise – you either love it or hate – very few folks are lukewarm about the looks of it – I mean seriously – did Darth Vader and the F-117 stealth fighter have a love child – or what??
I personally like it – the “faceted” look – the almost square stipples on the back strap -front and sides of the grip give a great purchase on it – the trigger finger index point on the frame just above the front of the trigger guard – the stippling at the top of the grip for your thumb – front and rear slide serrations – minimal slide release & mag release all really work good – and it’s totally ambi – neat as can be – Arex Delta’s are GOOD stuff – Glocks? – except for the oddball conversion calibers – .460/40 Super/9×25 Dillon (to name a few) I have pretty much given up on Glocks for carrying europellets – 9mm for you uninitiated folks – LOL!
The Arex Delta Gen 1 comes in at 21.6 oz empty . . .
The Arex Delta Gen 2 – somehow they managed to shave almost a full ounce off of the weight – changed the stippling – along with a few other changes – I will do a review on the Gen 2 and compare it to the Gen 1 later – the FDE color I could have done without but the price point (it was sold as used) was to good to pass up – Big Plus – it has the slide factory milled for a red dot sight . . .
The Sig comes in at just under 1 1/2 lbs – but thanks to the weight and the fact that it is a .380 makes for a real decent shooter.
I had 3 pistols to shoot that day – so I didn’t spend a lot of time with the Arex Gen 2 – dumped 4 mags (60 rounds) down range to check function – then fired 2 mags – 30 rounds – right at 3 rounds every 2 seconds – think a controlled mag dump @ 7 yards . . .
The bottom part of the target was first – and the “extended” mag is just a little taller base plate – no extra rounds / top part of the target is the flush mag.
I have a frame kit coming for the Gen 2 from Global Ordnance – it did not come with all the different sized back straps – can’t just buy them alone – Oh well – it was a good price @ $51.99 – so now I have a spare FDE frame as well – when I get the parts in I will put the same back strap on it as the Gen 1 has and then I will get to the range and run both of them side by side and let you folks know which one works better for me – remember – Your Actual Mileage May Vary . . .

Do you ever wonder why S.A.C. used “Bell” & “A.T. & T.” for their land line and satellite based com/con needs . . .
And the majority of their radio “stuff” was developed by or with the help of the “Bell Labs”.

Sig and the P250 – how Sig managed to screw up this bad I have never figured out. The P250 was marketed as a buy one then simply buy a caliber exchange kit and now you have two different calibers/frames/barrels/magazines but the fire control module pulls out of the frame – it has the serial number on it – and you have a different gun – cool . . .
And if you wanted a full size frame/barrel/slide set up – you simply up-sized – or you could go from full size to the compact . . .
Just one issue. I spent 3 plus years signed up for the “notify when in stock” thing with 4 different vendors – and then the P250 simply went away – gone – out of production. Which is a shame – the P250 has the best factory double action trigger I have ever fired – bar none. It is as smooth as any factory S&W revolver trigger there is – and I have fired MANY Smith revolvers. Hell folks, to be honest? – it’s as good as most “tuned/customized” double action revolvers. 4lb 1oz smooth as glass – no stacking – no “wall” – just smooth as glass pull right through to the break. The pistols are still out there on the used market – CLICK TO GO RIGHT TO GUNBROKER!– I will stop whining now and get back on point – LOL!
Footprint on the P250 compact is just kibbles & bits bigger than the P232 – from the bottom of the magazine to the top of the sights is just under 5 1/2 inches and from the tip of the beaver tail to the end of the barrel is 7 1/4 inches
Talking weight the P250 (and when we talk weight – remember folks it was all over the place with all the different calibers and frame sizes) compact in 45acp (God’s chosen caliber as handed down to St. Browning – LOL!) – Empty 26.6oz compared to the P232’s 23.8oz – the majority of that is slide mass – is not too bad.
When you load it up with 9 + 1 of 230 grain full metal jacket – 33.9oz. The recoil impulse changes as you run through the magazine – similar to the way a Glock 21 recoil changes.
Sig did a real good job with recoil management with the P250 in this configuration – some of the smaller guns in out there in 45acp are not nice to shoot – the P250 in this configuration is really decent – and dare I say- Fun to shoot!
With an Alien Gear outside the waist band holster to spread the weight out and tuck it up against you it’s quite easy and comfortable to carry and conceal . . .
Bottom Line? If your curious – they are still out there on the used market in a variety of frame/caliber configurations – and they are steadily increasing in value – I mean you can tell your Chief Financial Officer/wife/significant other that you are making a solid financial investment – Good Luck with that! I still have a friend’s wife that gives me the evil eye to this day – I told him if he couldn’t decide which pistol to buy – simply buy them both – I’ll be damned if he didn’t and then threw me under the bus – but he was already there as his wife had thrown him under the bus for listening to me – we actually had a good time there under the bus – planning and hatching our next nefarious plot . . .
