One of the Greatest Duets Now Back Together / RIP Loretta Lynn . . .

To me she will always be “The First Lady of Country Music” . . .

From the website newhillbilly.com . . .

“In 1971, Loretta Lynn began a professional partnership with Conway Twitty. As a duo, Lynn and Twitty had five consecutive No. 1 hits between 1971 and 1975, including “After the Fire Is Gone” (1971), which won them a Grammy award, “Lead Me On” (1971), “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” (1973), “As Soon as I Hang Up the Phone” (1974), and “Feelins'” (1974). For four consecutive years, 1972–1975, Lynn and Twitty were named the “Vocal Duo of the Year” by the Country Music Association. The Academy of Country Music named them the “Best Vocal Duet” in 1971, 1974, 1975 and 1976. The American Music awards selected them as the “Favorite Country Duo” in 1975, 1976 and 1977. The fan-voted Music City News readers voted them the No. 1 duet every year between 1971 and 1981, inclusive. In addition to their five No. 1 singles, they had seven other Top 10 hits between 1976 and 1981.”

Why Nothing EVER Changes . . .

Do YOU ever wonder WHY nothing ever changes?? At one point, some 30 years ago I wanted to build a Tesla coil -so I started reading about Tesla – the local library could get books from anywhere and everywhere ( college libraries etc. ) – and a lot of the books you could not even take out of the library – they had to be read there – about 5 months later I had read just about every book written that had Tesla’s name in it – fiction – non-fiction – tech journals that could be gotten through the “lending” program – you name it I had read it – since then I have grown weary of trying to get through to people the simple fact that we are being screwed over on a regular and on-going basis . . .

At least this guy has some semblance of credibility and perhaps will wake a few people up to what is and or could be happening – good and bad – the free power thing? That just scratches the surface of what Tesla was into – HINT: How about free instantaneous travel to not only where you want to go – but WHEN?? Who wins and who loses if THAT is possible??

Pilot Wake Up Call

This is so hilarious – at least to me . . .

Watched this 12 or 15 times and I still laugh every time . . .

Build a voice alarm clock for pilot people out there and have this voice warning for the alarm – pretty much they get right up out of the bed – or they died in their sleep – one or the other . . .

Made it to the Range . . .

Dumped 50 rounds of 115 grain 9mm through the Kimber Solo Carry – the first 3 magazines or so really sucked – essentially a single shot pistol . . .

After the first 20 or so rounds it settled down and ran decent – don’t even look at the slide release while firing – you will lock the slide back . . .

At ten yards – the center of mass shots were the pistol – the brain bucket shots were from Cody’s Rough Rider Rancher – it wasn’t till I got home that I realized I didn’t get any pics of it – an absolute hoot to shoot!

Grabbed this from Heritage’s web site . . .

So now it’s bath time –

Got pretty grunged out on 50 rounds – and yes ( thank you Kimber! ) the lines you see are machining marks . . .

Bottom line with the Kimber? – just say no to it – I wouldn’t trust my life with it – nor would I advise you to trust your life with it – But Bruce – the Kimber fits so good in my pocket! – Really?? – get a S&W 642 and carry it with the confidence and peace of mind that it WILL go bang 5 times if needed . . .

With that out of the way – on to the really fun part . . .

10 rounds / 7 yards with the Taurus 605 – 5 rounds with Fiocchi 158 grain ( about 1400 FPS ) – the holes that appear a little bigger are with the PPU 158 grain jacketed hollow points – rated at 1607 FPS . . .

Cody was just about out of the fun zone after these 10 rounds . . .

These next 10 are all full power rounds @ 4 yards – Cody shot 5 – I shot 5 – hammer back and fire – 1 round per second – that one hit in the 9 ring was Cody’s 5th shot – the flinch thing was getting to both of us by this point . . .

I put the grips on the Taurus thinking it would settle into the web of the hand better – trying to mitigate some of the recoil – factory grips are underneath in this next pic . . .

Did the new grips make a difference? I went from no way I’m shooting that again to I would consider grabbing it instead of a knife – I am going to pick up a set of Ergo Grips for a S&W J frame and will have to slightly modify them to fit – hopefully that will make it shootable – I just don’t see it ever being a “fun” shooter with full power loads no matter what is done to it . . .

Let me add just one more thing here – my worst day at the range beats the Hell out of my best day at work – When was YOUR last trip to the range??
