From 1982 – The telephone exchange . . .

Good little film that gives you a behind the scenes sorta look at telephone systems as they evolved . . .

Now take a look at what you are carrying in your pocket and how seamless that works . . .

From Fran Blanche – go check her out – well worth the trip -and take a moment to think what’s happening seamlessly in the background when you do that – wild stuff!

Spent over ten years living and working in a small southern town that was not Sparta but could have been , , ,

Anyway enjoy the soundtrack From “In The Heat of The Night”

Fisking one of the many Dumb Hot Takes on The Rittenhouse Case

From Monster Hunter Nation – For the full article CLICK HERE – the comments are worth the trip!

“In the aftermath of the Rittenhouse trial there are a bunch of posts like this floating around social media. They all work off the same talking points so they are basically interchangeable. These are all being shared to bamboozle the gullible and shore up the dedicated idiots. I picked this one because of how many lies and distortions it packed into one post. Going into detail on all of his fuck ups would take a book, so this is kind of a turbo fisk, and it’s still long. I know I’ve got a ton of lawyers who read these, so if I screwed anything up let me know.

As usual, the idiot I’m fisking is in italics. My responses are in bold.

From a military legal worker:

– after you read this you’ll agree that’s almost certainly a lie or a bit of exaggeration.

I’m seeing a lot of ignorance and misinformation flying around about what happened in Kenosha,

– so he’s about to add to it.

and I’m going to set the record straight from a professional legal position…

– as you will see, this is a horseshit. Instead he obfuscates the law to sell a narrative.

as well as from a former military position.

– utterly irrelevant appeal to authority. Military experience has nothing to do with civilian self-defense law. That’s like Neil DeGrasse Tyson syndrome, where you know about astronomy, so obviously we all want to hear your dumbass opinion on every other topic.

Well worth the read – Go and Enjoy!

A closer look at the SMKW Christmas Order

First up – the free stuff – a box from SMKW.COM is always good – add free stuff to that and it makes it even gooder! . . .

The mat – 2 carabiner knives and a multi-tool from Urban Gear – a TAC-FORCE flipper – a Smith’s sharpener – a Case Sod Buster Junior and 2 stickers – PLUS free shipping . . .

I’ll give you a quick look at 2 of the knives ordered before they get wrapped . . .

First the one my Blushing Bride picked for me . . .

A Rough Ryder Coral Snake Trapper . . .

( still fighting the lighting! )( thinking about some incandescent on a dimmer )

Sweet stuff . . .

My birthday is coming up here soon – I am NOT Carnac The Great but I am seeing another Rough Ryder Coral Snake in my future!

And the one my Blushing Bride picked out for herself . . .

A Boker Plus USB OTF Automatic Purple – that’s a whole lot for such a cute little knife!

You folks remember the old USB thumb drives? Same size . . .

Just deploys so sweet – push of the thumb and there you go . . .

I was informed that I WILL include a black split ring with the little knife so she can put it on her key chain – Well I will have YOU know I told her in no uncertain terms – – – Yes Dear . . .

As far as the rest of the knives go – no reveal yet since some of the folks that follow this twisted thing called a blog will be reaching into the bag and pulling 1 of 3 different knives out for a “Santa” gift – But everybody here will get a look at them after Christmas . . .

Kissing Crane Pearl Harbor 80th Anniversary Commemorative Trapper

December 7th 1941 – a date that will live in infamy . . .

Another oh so sweet trapper from Kissing Cane and Kennesaw Cutlery . . .

Brass bolsters – mother of pearl – blue and red acrylic – etched bone – brass shield and spacers – you would think it would come across as too busy but it is so well done it works real well . . .

The blade etching is very good – again almost too much – but so well done it works . . .

Fit and finish will stand up against other makers – and their stuff costs 4 to 6 times as much – a look at the back side so you can get an idea of the fit and finish without the engraving and shield distracting you . . .

Kissing Crane knives are good stuff – and their “commemorative” line?? At $30 to $35 bucks apiece – the attention to detail and the way they carry out the “art work” ( for lack of a better description ) – the way the whole knife / scales / blade engraving comes together on any of them they are well worth the price of admission – any of them are a real nice addition to any collection . . .
