A Pair of Artisan Cutlery Brass Proponents – and Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Short Stack

I knew they were getting married – but I lost track of the date – it snuck up on me – I ordered the “Lady Leg” and the “Halloween Special” for me and a matched set of these for the bride and groom . . .

I even wrapped them up all nice and pretty – didn’t get them in time for the wedding so they didn’t get to open them there . . .

I popped one out of the box to give you folks a look see – didn’t want to handle it too much as brass will acquire a patina – and they were gifts – let the newlyweds put the patina on them – that just doesn’t sound right – does it?

You even get a nice drawstring bag and a screw in locking pin . . .

Right at 9 inches open – wharncliffe blade / pocket clip / thumb studs – all massive

And tipping the scales at 14.89 oz in the brass – it all feels just right . . .

When you take the lock pin . . .

Screw it through the frame and lock / block the blade open – the only thing that beats the feel of this Proponent is a short sword – and as a reflection on how far the pussification ( thanx George Carlin ) of our society has gone – you really DO NOT want to carry a short sword out in public – DON’T ASK how I know this – ok?

I picked up a Proponent in G10 scales – the only place I found one was Amazon – go figure . . .

Really great job on machining the G10 – same knife – same praises – except . . .

It only weighs 9.2 oz –Bruce – are you nuts or what?? – That’s over a half pound of pocket knife!! – the G10 handled Proponent is just a whole different feel / level – the brass one “sings” to you – Wanna chop up a Ford? You bet! – Wanna chop a cow up? You bet! – Wanna chop a _________ ? ( insert damn near anything! ) You bet!

The G10 proponent is really a nice large folding knife – and I am going to wring it out for you folks in a review – next to the Proponent in bronze – it may be a while as the bronze are on back order – but I have one coming . . .

Mr. & Mrs. Short Stack are going to put a little review together for you folks – it may be a while – you folks know how that newlywed thing is – busy busy . . .

Case Sod Buster “Halloween Special”

I am an absolute slut for “commemorative” knifes – I freely admit it – they don’t even have to be particularly collectible or valuable – it just happens to be something I like . . .

I did a total room move on my work / photo / gun cleaning / general make a mess area – I went from just almost not enough lighting to almost too much – I’m getting closer on the lighting . . .

Ohhh – A Case!

Bruce – Quit teasing! – I waited like 4 weeks for these to get in stock – so humor me a little bit here – ok?

Just about didn’t get here for Halloween – but worth the wait!

Loving the “pumpkin” orange – The printing is nice and crisp . . .

The sod buster junior knives are not large knives by any stretch . . .

Typical Case – no flaws – good color – brass liners / rivets – Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless blade . . .

Neat stuff – they are still in stock – so get over to SMKW.COM and get one on the way today!

Tucks right in with the other sod busters . . .

Rough Ryder Black & Blue Lady Leg

Ordered 3 knives from SMKW.COM and I tagged this onto the order – I am really digging the Black & Blue series from Rough Ryder – and I am enamored with “Lady Leg” knives so . . .

So let’s have a look at The Lady Leg Black & Blue RR2122 from SMKW.COM

Talk about a little sweetheart – this just as cute as cute can be . . .

The dye on this is a little lighter than on my other Black & Blue’s – you will see that in the last pic – this particular one for fit and finish? – it is hard to believe it is a $10 dollar knife – it is just overall great – nothing jumps ( or even creeps! ) out at you . . .

And the flip side . . .

For whatever reason they do not stamp Rough Ryder on the shield on these – who knows?

Nickel silver bolster – shield – and “shoe” – brass liners – 440 stainless blade, nice and sharp right out of the box . . .

Now you see what I was referencing about the dye being a wee bit lighter on the Lady Leg as compared to the other two . . .

Now I have to decide do I add a random Lady Leg to each order . . . or add another Black & Blue series to the order???

I KNOW – BOTH!

That was an easy decision – LMAO!!
