The sacrifices I make for all y’all – gonna have to drink beer – eat cheese / sausage / and crackers – but I’m willing to do it for you folks so we can decide which Kershaw “Pub Knife” is best. Basically two parts – #1 ( and MOST importantly! ) / How well they open the beer and #2 / How well they cut the “stuff” – Ready?
Here we go!

First will be the “Shuffle” – the purple one . . .
The opener was difficult at best – took 5 or 6 tries to get the beer open . . .

Oh My! – Excuse me while I take a break from all this hard work . . . Although not my usual choice in carbonated adult beverages – hold on while I sacrifice and drink this beer – LMAO!

The “Shuffle” vs the cheese . . .

The “Shuffle” vs the sausage . . .

The “Pub” vs the beer – I’m not saying it was difficult but damn – I was thoroughly parched by the time we got the beer opened – hold tight while I drink this one . . .

The “Pub” vs the sausage . . .

The “Pub vs the cheese . . .

The “Cinder” vs the beer – hooked it up and pop – off come the cap! -First try – YAY! – I was starting to get thirsty from all this heavy duty blogging stuff . . . LOL!

The “Cinder vs the sausage . . .

The “Cinder” vs the cheese . . .

So now we come to the winner and the losers – despite its petite size the “Cinder” was a clear winner – the opener was the best by far – and it cut every bit as well or better than either the “Shuffle” or the “Pub” . . .
Pictured Below . . .
The “Cinder” is the top one / The “Pub” is the second from the top / The “Shuffle” is the bottom one . . .

Bottom line – they all 3 cut – they are knives after all – but the “Cinder” just disappears on your key ring – it cuts – and the bottle opener WORKS GOOD!
Now I have to clean up the mess I made – it’s a tough job . . .

The “Dear Old Nebraska Brew” is from Zip Line Brewing and it’s pretty good for a “lighter” lager beer – nice hops finish – if Zip Line Brewing products are available in YOUR area – check them out – their stuff is pretty good . . .
Here is one of my all time favorite carbonated adult beverages from Sierra Nevada Brewing – hasn’t been produced for quite a time – but I still have 4 bottles stashed . . .

The last of the Ovila Abbey Quad I saw for sale was 4 or 5 years ago and was $5 or $6 bucks a bottle at that time – and worth every penny . . .
Folks – all 3 of these Knives are in stock at BladeHq – go check them out . . . – really – what are YOU waiting for??

Got a text from a friend asking what I was carrying today – I took a pic and sent it back to her – told her carrying light today . . .

Got a text back before I even made it downstairs – she said you MUST watch this Hickok45 video – so I did – stranger things HAVE happened – just saying – but I thought it was kinda neat . . .

Love the blooms – but . . .

. . . the “fragrance” of the Carrion Flower is something else – Quite different than any other flower in the garden.
You can read about it here . . .

Pretty interesting video . . .
Really good video – if you click through and watch on YouTube he has all the knives linked in the description – click and go straight to BladeHq to buy . . .
What Taylor Martin gives you here is a look at a variety of EDC knives – pros and cons – albeit from his point of view – his pick(s) might not be YOUR pick(s), but it gives you a look at different options. He is not a big fan of auto knives or even spring assist knives – Me? I am a huge fan of them – different strokes / different folks
One of the limitations of this media (blogging) is it is essentially a static medium – you read stuff – look at the pics – sometimes a short clip – and go on from there. For instance – When I picked up and handled the Spyderco Alcyone it was essentially an impulse buy – looked good – felt good – sure you bet – I’ll take it. Now to convey that “feels” into words and make sense out of it? Your kidding, right? My granddaughter thinks I should do the YouTube thing – I’m like No and let’s leave it at that . . .
I can screw stuff up good enough just blogging . . .

My Bushing Bride and I were tripping down to Dauphin Island and I caught sight of this sign – stabbed the brakes and slid off in the parking lot – sliding pretty good on the gravel – I admit I was going MUCH too fast to cut into the parking lot – but – can you blame me??

When I read the sign again – I was really disappointed – I realized there was only one “P” in strippers – my blushing bride laughed her ass off – I didn’t think it was THAT funny!
Some people’s sense of humor . . .

. . . and yes I am STILL digging through picture files . . .
From 2006 on the old Speed Channel, this documentary examines the links between bootleggers and the early days of NASCAR with a focus on legendary driver/mechanic/car owner Junior Johnson.
This will get you in the right frame of mind to watch the video – “and them little girls get frisky when they here that race car sound . . .
You gotta go to YouTube to watch it – <<< Click Here >>> Good video – well worth the trip to the ‘Tube . . .

Was at my local gun store to grab some 9mm – yes they actually had some in stock – and was headed out the door and this little gem caught my eye – The Spyderco Alcyone – the grey G10 scales really look good to me – price wise? Same cost as on line with shipping so I gave the little darling a new home – I know, I’m a soft touch for orphans . . .

About 4 1/2 inches closed . . .

Not quite 7 1/2 open . . .

The drop point blade has just about the right amount of “belly” – CTS-BD1 steel is supposed to be decent stuff – real nice edge – sharp but doesn’t feel “fragile” – the G10 scales are grippy but not abrasive – time will tell as I carry it – my “pocket” knife is used for cutting everything what needs to be cut – I don’t pry – scrape – turn screws – or otherwise abuse my “pocket” knife and this feels like it will do a good job . . .

Rolls open real smooth with either thumb – the pocket clip can be used in all 4 positions or left off – however YOU want to roll with it – even has a lanyard hole!

Good positive engagement of the liner lock – I will carry it for a while and see how it does – cleaned up the Gerber Flatiron and put it up in the knife box – it cut the snot out of anything and everything I used it for – never got the chance to chop up a body with it – but the Flatiron “felt” like it was up to the task if needed – zero complaints with it . . .
Totally subjective – but the Spyderco “feels” like a smaller knife despite its size – real good “feeling” of control when cutting – and yes I will do some kitchen tasks with it – might even remember to wash it first! – LMAO!
