What’s in your pocket Bruce??

In answer to that question . . .

YOU know YOU might get a better response if YOU use comments on the site instead of texts on the phone – just saying . . .

Don’t be all sketchy and shit worrying about your comment – the folks that follow this blog are not very judgemental – OK??

What you see is what I crawl out of the bed and gear up with to go and make my morning coffee – that is pretty much the minimum “stuff” I carry – some days I will add the 14 round mag for the CZ in my pocket – and add a J frame in an ankle holster – some days I really get into a 1911 jag – hard to beat a pair of 1911’s and a J frame in your pocket and one in an ankle holster . . .

I have sure been loving me some AREX Delta lately – it is what a GLOCK 19 should have evolved into – but they just won’t embrace the fact that there are better designs out here – if you get a chance to run one – the AREX Delta is quite a piece – almost enough to lure me to striker fired pistols full time . .

I even carry this old H&R once in a while – 38 S&W is not a power house cartridge – but it will sure drop the rounds where you want them . . ,

The biggest thing?? – Carry what YOU are comfortable with . . . Doesn’t have to be the latest / greatest / super high tech blaster – as long as you are able to get hits with it and you have confidence in IT and YOUR ability with IT – it’s all good . . .

2 From Smoky Mountain Knife Works – The Oops Knives

I ordered the top knife you see in the pic below – a Hen & Rooster Star Spangled Corelon Pen Knife – and “Oops” – I actually got the bottom knife – a Hen & Rooster Abalone Pen Knife . . . ( SMKW made it right – click anywhere on this to read about the Oops that occurred and how SMKW stepped right up and fixed it )

Let’s take a look at the Abalone pen knife first ( and yes it is imitation abalone ) – right up front I’ll tell you, the pictures do it no justice – it’s a real sweetheart – one of the best looking sets of imitation abalone scales I have seen – the brass bolsters, and pins, and the “antique” medallion just look right as rain on it . . .

And the other side – you can almost get lost in it . . .

Now a look at the Star Spangled pen knife . . .

The same brass accents – this particular one did not get as good of color separation as the one pictured on the web site – but still one good looking knife . . .

Not sure if it was intentional or not – but the sanding marks are very subtle to the eye – even at a second glance you would think they are bone and not resin . . .

All in all a pair of sweet little knives – did I say little? – yes they are – take up no room in your pocket at all . . .

Closed not even 3 inches . . .

With the “BIG” blade deployed – not even 5 inches . . .

Both blades?? About 6 1/4 inches – Hell I’ve got fixed blade knives with longer blades – just saying . . .

But here’s the thing – everybody that has handled any of the “302 series” from Hen & Rooster – or any Hen & Rooster knife – all say the same thing – How in the world do they get so much “goody” in something that small?

And if you want to look at the entire Hen & Rooster “302” series that Smoky Mountain carries? – to see them all <<<CLICK HERE>>> – go on and pick you 1 or 2 out – you won’t be disappointed . . .

Hen & Rooster knives and Smoky Mountain Knife Works – What a great combination . . .

Smoky Mountain Knife Works – A Level of Customer Service That’s “A Cut Above”

You see what I did there . . .

The review of the knives involved will hopefully get done this weekend . . .

This post will take a look at their customer service . . .

I ordered a knife from them that was featured on one of the daily “Flash Sales” – they sent me the wrong knife – oops . . .

The knife I received was one I had looked at and in fact had I ordered that knife I would have been pleased with it – it exceeded my expectations for that knife – but it was not the one I had ordered – I called customer service and offered to pay the difference in price between the one I got and the knife I ordered – purchase the one I had ordered – and since the total was less than 75 bucks – pay the shipping . . .

They were having none of that mess – Keep the knife we sent – we will ship the knife you ordered no purchase or freight charge – and “Have a Good Day” . . .

And that is just what they did – woof / woof / bam – done deal . . .

I admit I was a little shocked – they wouldn’t let me pay the difference / purchase the one I ordered / pay freight – nothing . . .

I urge YOU to trot your happy ass over to <SMKW.COM> and check them out – Great folks to deal with – good prices and selection . . .
