I fixed the links – they all open in separate windows . . .

Operation Teapot was a series of fourteen nuclear test explosions conducted at the Nevada Test Site in the first half of 1955. It was preceded by Operation Castle, and followed by Operation Wigwam. Wigwam was, administratively, a part of Teapot, but it is usually treated as a class of its own. The aims of the operation were to establish military tactics for ground forces on a nuclear battlefield and to improve the nuclear weapons used for strategic delivery.

And a few still pics . . .

I Found It! – Charles Wyckoff and the Rapatronic Camera

I wanted to tag this with the Atomic Film Makers post – but I couldn’t find – I Found It!!

And the building they couldn’t knock down with over pressure – it was suggested to pop a device inside the building – But they didn’t – the cost factor just wouldn’t allow “one for fun” – high velocity “conventioal” explosives were used – really no comparison . . . Just saying . . . Device inside the structure – it would turn into ashes in an instant . . .

I still can’t remember the name of the shot with the plasma spikes however . . . Give to The United Fat White Boy’s College Fund – A Waist is a Terrible Thing to Mind!
