Just so everything is in perspective – the fundamental and foundational basis of this republic is the system of restraints placed on government – at ALL levels – by the constitution – one of the rallying cries for the freedom movement is – “criminals do not obey laws so what possible good can come from more gun laws??” – there are approximately 28,000 federal / state / and local gun control laws on the books – and surprise surprise – criminals don’t obey the law(s) – look no further than congress to see beyond any shadow of doubt that criminals don’t obey laws . . .
