Smoky Mountain Knife Works – A Level of Customer Service That’s “A Cut Above”

You see what I did there . . .

The review of the knives involved will hopefully get done this weekend . . .

This post will take a look at their customer service . . .

I ordered a knife from them that was featured on one of the daily “Flash Sales” – they sent me the wrong knife – oops . . .

The knife I received was one I had looked at and in fact had I ordered that knife I would have been pleased with it – it exceeded my expectations for that knife – but it was not the one I had ordered – I called customer service and offered to pay the difference in price between the one I got and the knife I ordered – purchase the one I had ordered – and since the total was less than 75 bucks – pay the shipping . . .

They were having none of that mess – Keep the knife we sent – we will ship the knife you ordered no purchase or freight charge – and “Have a Good Day” . . .

And that is just what they did – woof / woof / bam – done deal . . .

I admit I was a little shocked – they wouldn’t let me pay the difference / purchase the one I ordered / pay freight – nothing . . .

I urge YOU to trot your happy ass over to <SMKW.COM> and check them out – Great folks to deal with – good prices and selection . . .

A Couple from BladeHQ

I was stumbling through BladeHQ’s sale stuff the other day ( You really should check it out! ) and grabbed a couple – and they got here today – Oh Boy!

Ready? Here we go . . .

First off is a Kershaw Shuffle in purple . . .

Real nice “little” knife – love the stylized K for grip texture and the purple is not too “Blingy” – and it’s a bottle opener – neat huh?

About as small as it can be and still get a comfortable and firm grip on it . . .

The liner lock gets a good bite on the blade to keep it open . . .

Pocket clip lets it ride deep – stone wash finish is consistent and looks real good with the purple and the gloss black thumb stud and screws . . .

Size wise?? About 5 3/4 inches open . . .

And about 4 3/4 inches closed puts it right in the ball park with the Kershaw Sinkevich Pub Knife – just a different take as far as style goes – a real nice little knife . . .

And the other one . . .

A Kershaw Groove . . .

Not sure how the “Cabela’s Exclusive” thing works – but it came from BladeHQ . . .

Good looking spring assist knife . . .

Between the “grooves” and the texturing you get a really good grip on it . . .

The pocket clip lets it ride deep . . .

The liner lock engages almost to the center of the blade – good positive lock . . .

At just over 8 inches a good size knife for social work . . .

And just under 5 inches closed – and a look at the “fine” texture – really works well . . .

And the spring assist is real smooth – a pull on the “tab” and it’s open . . .

What’s in your pocket??

Now excuse me while I attend to some important “stuff” . . .

Bruce – That sure don’t look like no fish heads . . .

No – No those are not fish heads – Heh Heh . . .

My Blushing Bride is NOT Spoiled!! . . .

Let’s just say her material wants are WELL met – just saying . . .

I wanted to pick up a little something new and sharp for her the other day – something with just the “proper” amount of “Bling” – I headed to the Kershaw selection @ SMKW.COM and came up with this . . .

A spring assisted Kershaw Leek in purple – the color match is unbelievable . . .

And the fun part?? – I haven’t said a word to her – the next time she decides the “occasion” warrants “Bling” ( Sunday Go To Meeting / Bar-B-Q / Cat Fight / Bar Mitzvah / whatever ) and she carries her high polish CZ75 instead of her poly coat CZ75 – she’ll find it and be like “Oh you shouldn’t have” as she slips it in her pocket – LMAO!

I hope to get a review done on this one and the Leek I picked up for me sometime this week but don’t hold your breath – I am so far behind I have to speed up to stop . . .
