Crock Pot Chuck Roast / Upgraded Recipe

This is an upgrade version of the chuck roast recipe from awhile back – the only two things you add to make it much more better? – red wine and portabella mushrooms . . .

You need :

Chuck roast – 2 to 3 lbs

Jar of pepperoncini peppers

Package of Au Jus mix

Ranch dressing seasoning mix / one package or three tablespoons

Portabella mushrooms – about 1 lb

Bottle of red wine

Butter – one stick

Cooked rice or mashed taters – your choice – my choice is rice

Crock pot

Sunset to enjoy when your done eating and go feet up comatose mode optional

This is just about as simple as it gets – get a roast – that was easy . . .

Take your mushrooms . . .

And slice them up and . . .

Then take your wine and mushrooms . . .

And dump them into the crock pot – still with me ?? – Great!

Here comes an easy part – lay roast on top of mushrooms and wine – And drain the pepperoncini . . .

Then put the pepperoncini around the roast . . .

Then take the Au Jus mix and Ranch dressing seasoning mix and spread them all over the top of the roast . . .

Then take the butter out of the paper and slice it onto eight or ten pieces and then . . .

Spread them pieces over the top of the roast . . .

Put the lid on the crock pot AND DON’T FORGET TO PLUG IT IN!!! – don’t ask – it’s better if you don’t ask . . .

On low 7 or 8 hours – on high somewhere around 5 or 6 hours . . .

And away you go . . .

One of my favorite kitchen “things” are my crock pots – you can throw the “stuff” in it and let it do it’s magic – and DON’T FORGET TO PLUG IT IN!! – just saying . . .

2 Reviews / Colt Competition Series / 45 ACP

Ran across 2 reviews of Colt Competition Series ( their CCS line ) for you folks – One from Sootch00 and one from HRFunk – Sit back and enjoy some 1911 goodness . . .

Sootch00 kinda missteps in this video – he says it is a 70 series trigger – but if you pay attention at about 15 minutes you see the “lift” in the frame and the firing pin block it contacts on the under side of the slide . . .

HRFunk picked himself up a two tone – my personal preference is the flat black . . .

My Bushing Bride’s CCS is in 9MM – and it came with two mags – I figure Colt realizes if you are shooting Europellets you are going to need twice as many to get the job done – LOL!

Really nice pistols – well worth the price of admission – some nice features to get you started in competition shooting at a price point you can live with – if memory serves me right – I think my Blushing Bride’s 9MM CCS was $949.00.

Really only have one twitch with the CCS from Colt – I am not a fan of the under cut at the rear of the trigger guard – shoot way too much with regular government models and I tend to shoot a wee bit low with the under cut – and one more twitch with my Blushing Bride’s CCS – a 1911 is supposed to go KA-BOOM! KA-BOOM! – not pew pew – a “proper” and “true” 1911 must be in God’s chosen caliber as handed down to St. Browning – the 45ACP!! LMAO!

Colt also makes a stainless CCS chambered in 38SUPER – which I am lusting after – if YOU just can’t decide which one? 9MM – 45ACP – 38SUPER? – Buy them all – just tell your Chief Financial Officer you have MY permission – and good luck with that!

Just be careful with using that little piece of advice – I have a friend who told his wife that after bringing home $2000 + in two pistol boxes and I caught Hell the next time I went over there!

One for “Shortstack” – and the rest of you can enjoy it as well!

This is from the show 12-16 – 21 at the Truman in Kansas City – we really wanted to go but just couldn’t get all the loose ends gathered up to get to it . . .

Damn that girl can play a guitar and puts on one Hell of a show!!

36 Years Ago Today . . .

Was sitting in a motel waiting for a load of tennis ball material in Tempe Arizona headed for Binghamton NY – just about to head out to the pool but wanted to watch the launch before I went swimming – never made it to the pool . . .

Oops . . .

If you research deep enough into the start of the program – the engineers stated one of the downsides to the shuttle program was that statistically there would be one catastrophic failure for every 100 launches – those were the odds going into the program – Don’t know about any of you folks – even knowing the odds I would not have hesitated to climb in and go – talk about one Hell of a ride!!
