From LEO Combat : Hammer Shrouds for the 637 J Frame

When I received my TRIPLE-O Knife from Bob at LEO COMBAT ( my review of the TRIPLE-O knife is here ) he threw in a package of these – a neat idea to “snag proof” the hammer on a S&W 637 – the S&W 637 is great as it is a true DA/SA revolver – you can simply pull the trigger and it will perform a “double” action – rotate the cylinder AND bring the hammer back to sear break thus firing the revolver – as well as being able to bring the hammer back manually – rotating the cylinder and bringing to hammer back to rear lock – then pulling the trigger gives you a “single” action – hammer drop/firing the revolver . . .

The S&W 637 is capable of quite decent single action accuracy – however the hammer snagging on clothing or body parts while attempting to extricate from your pocket / under pants / or wherever you might stash it limits it being used by a lot of folks – they simply buy and carry a S&W 642 ( internal hammer ) and don’t worry about hammer snag . . .

How to test drive this?? I dug out the S&W 637 and a pocket holster for it – loaded it – slipped the shroud on it – and put it in my pocket . . . I tried dry firing it multiple times and it “pops” right off of the hammer just like in the video – so I will carry it in my pocket for a couple of weeks and see if it comes off in normal use – I will not do any pics – What ?? Stick my bore scope down my pocket ??

Been in my pocket all day and hasn’t come off yet – ( and yes I have my S&W 642 in my other pocket ) so I will get back to you folks in a week or so and let you know how it works . . .

New Pachmayr Grips for The S&W 36-1 Square Butt

I really like the Herrett’s grips – yes I know – “stocks” – OK??? – that were on the S&W 36-1 – good looking – but not really practical . . .

I finally found a set of Pachmayr’s for the little darling – I needed grips for a square butt not a round butt – they finally came back in stock – I ordered a set and here we are – and again nothing against the Herrett’s but they just don’t fit me as good as the Pachmayr’s and the little dear is still being used regularly as a “working” revolver – I really don’t want to scratch up a set of grips that are vintage – and worth more than the revolver . . .

But practicality wins out as the little darling is still pulling it’s weight – no hanging out in the vault drinking beer – playing poker – and smoking cigars for a living . . . All y’all think I can’t smell the cigar smoke – really?? And I do notice the beer missing – and if you would pay more attention y’all would realize the 380’s are table talking / bottom of the deck dealing cheaters – I will never again set in on a game with them – but what do I know? – just saying . . .

I Am NOT Ashamed – Actually I’m Proud of It!!

I was doing a little shopping at a local store this morning. Of course they have the sign up about the cdc recommends wearing face masks as a sign of your surrender to the commie fucks among us – I do not take the advice of a government entity whose very existence is in direct violation of the constitution – so I went on in – I was questioned by a young lady ( 30 years old?? ) as to why I did not have a face mask on . . .

Those of you who know me personally know that every so often I have moments of true inspiration – usually not more than 35 to 40 in any given minute – and I HAD ONE!! – Oh Baby Jesus did I ever – Masks??? – I said . . . did you not see the news??? The government has figured out the disease vector !! – It’s spread by the Japs!! – Right now they are looking for volunteers to help round up all the Japanese – Americans and put them in internment camps until this crisis that humanity is facing can be controlled – and the quickest way we can do this is placing all the Japanese in camps. She said “I knew it! – I knew it was something like that! – How do I volunteer ??” I told her to go home and and call Homeland Security or the FBI and they will get her on the list . . . She thanked me profusely and went out the door headed to her car . . . The guy on the other side of the aisle watching this exchange told me I should be ashamed of myself – I told him that I am ashamed of myself – for allowing our education system to degrade to such a condition that this young lady did not make any historical connection and believed me . . . Obviously they don’t teach exactly what type of rotten Fuck FDR was . . .

The most frightening part of the affair??? – come November she will more than likely vote – and that is fucking scary . . .
