Bloomberg’s millions are sure being used well in Virginia – Look at the fine upstanding governor and legislature that it bought – filthy lucre = filthy purchase – can’t hardly get more filthy than ralph northam ( lower case intentional ) and his co-conspirators . . .
Try not to puke – I apologize for exposing you to the dishonorable adam schiff . . .
“You Should Go To Fuc*in’ Jail”: Chaos Ensues As Schiff Accused Of ‘Treason’ At California Event. . . A Glendale, California town hall event hosted by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) became less than civil on Saturday, after hecklers accused the House Intelligence Committee chairman of “treason” and being a “liar,” read the full article at Zerohedge.com . . . The meeting was to recognize that our lords and masters finally acknowledged the genocide committed by the the Turks against the Armenian people in their society in 1914-15 . . . How were the Turks able to do this you ask? They took their fucking guns away!!
Danger! – Sedition coming to a city or state near YOU!! Compliments of this fuck’s money!!

Picked these up at Three G Pawn – I admit that I have a soft spot in my heart for stainless steel Smith & Wesson’s. Just could not say no . . . Sorta like Lays Potato Chips – bet you can’t eat just one….
Top – fixed sight 5906 – a high round count gun – had to replace the side plate and an extractor – good shooter!
Middle – adjustable sight 5906 – not a lot of rounds through it – tweaked the sights a wee bit to match my shooting style and my mark one eyeballs – shoots great!
Bottom – 64-3 – cleaned up nice – tight as the day it was made – very low round count and just an incredible shooter – and yes I replaced the grips with a set of Pachmeyer’s
If you want to see some really nice stuff from Doug and the folks at Three G – check out their listings on Gun Broker – realize the stuff on auction is generally higher end – but even then Doug is very competitive. If your tastes run to the more “blue collar” stuff you need to slip by the shop and check out his inventory – besides a good assortment of firearms he’s got hand tools – power tools – an incredible collection of knives – for no bigger than the place is , a whole bunch of really neat stuff and he always has some really good deals – and is willing to deal on most of his inventory.
I will review each of these and post them for you – in the meantime – run the gun and remember fish heads are cheap!
The 36-1 was originally built for the Tokyo Police Department and really embraced a strange twist in Smith’s dash numbers denoting an engineering change as opposed to denoting a model number. (Smith as a whole REALLY wrapped their arms around the collective journey through the looking glass!!)
Prior to 1956 – 1957 Smith named their guns – chiefs special – victory model (M&P model 10’s) produced for war contracts ,etc. Variations could be ordered of different models but the names remained. When Smith went to model numbers things got a little “strange” .
For an example – model 10-3 vs 10-4 – Exact same gun as a base model (blued k frame – 4 inch taper barrel – fixed sights – 10-4 comes with a narrower ribbed trigger – but can be ordered with the “older” trigger. (And don’t quote me on that as I am NOT 100% sure that was one of the dash 3 to dash 4 changes – the twisting and turning is totally fascinating to me but really does not have a broad appeal ) Sometimes the change was strictly internal – sometimes not. Can be ordered with a 2″ – 3″ – 4″ – 5″ – 6″ barrel – nickel plated – blued – later model changes included round butt or the original square butt – I could do this for a really long time and really just bore the crap right out of you , but I won’t.
This pic gives you an idea of square vs round butt – the round butt tends to conceal easier than the square butt – kinda like small vs BIG BUTT ( I could not resist that !! ) However in a firearm of this size both are easy to conceal.
Looking at the size differences here – even with a set of Herrett’s you really don’t add much to the profile and the 36-1 is very concealable. Herrett’s Stocks are not a cheap date by any stretch of the imagination but are REALLY nice and add to the control-ability during recoil and follow up shots.
Of course this wouldn’t right without a couple of glamour shots…..
This pic gives you an idea of “relative” size -Glock 17 on top – 36-1 middle – 642 bottom.
The 36-1 is quite interesting to handle and shoot – the small frame with the 3 inch heavy barrel balances and points so fine. Sadly the hay day of the Model 36 is gone – however the Model 36 is still available in new manufacture. Not in the many “versions” it was once available in – but still being made. Smith and Wesson responded to consumer demand and started a line of revolvers named “Classics” – click through and click on the dialog box and click on classics – like a porn page for us older wheel gun aficionados – LOL.
Loaded up and a pair of speedloaders in your pocket or or pouch – Hell Yes !!!
15 rounds of 158 grain semi wadcutter plus p gas check hollow points – ready to go!!
BUT -BUT – BUT plus p ammo in an old revolver ?????????? OMG OMG …. Really folks – any Smith revolver with a model number stamped on it – in good condition – can handle plus p ammo – personally I do not shoot a steady diet of it through any revolver but I finish range time with a few ( 10 to 15 ) rounds of carry ammo just to acclimatize to recoil – point of aim – muzzle blast etc.
And there will be a shooting review of this coming up – maybe I can talk Jacques into shooting a few rounds just to show how incredibly accurate the little rascal is!
Have a bunch of stuff coming – remember fish heads are cheap – and folks run the gun!
Found myself in the market for a second Glock 21 – more on that in a bit.
Not that I am behind on “stuff” – but I bought this back in June and am just now getting this post put together – LOL .
Looking around and found a deal on good to very good rated Glock 21 police trade ins on Recoilgunworks.com – I believe they were on sale for $379 according to gun.deals – could not find the “deal” listed on recoil’s web site – so I gave them a call and was told all they had left at the time were Glock 21 trade ins listed as “good” condition and they would sell me one @ $359 – and if I recall they would throw in the shipping – and if I was not completely satisfied – send it back.
The left side of the pistol – slight finish wear on the slide release and one scuff towards the rear of the slide.
The right side – scuff near the rear of the slide and a little scratch at the bottom of the grip and just a little tiny bit of finish wear on the forward part of the slide.
Very nice condition inside as well . . .
Remember folks – the bottom line on used firearms – “Condition is King” – and Recoil Gun Works swatted this one out of the park!!
Simply delighted with the condition and shoot-ability of this Glock – real nice!!
I try to buy used locally ( ask Doug @ GGGPawn!!) as much as possible – not that a vendor would hedge on the condition of a used item but . . . – new is new – if an item is available through the internet and a substantial savings can be realized – buy it but don’t forget about shipping and transfer fees !! – the internet can save you money – but used – I try to buy after seeing – touching – handling etc.
Overall a great deal on a police trade in Glock 21 from Recoilgunworks.com – Highly recommend them and if I am looking for something used and can’t find it locally – would not hesitate to order from them again!!
So Bruce – what are you talking about – “A Tale of Two Glocks ” ???
Well . . .
I did this to my Gen 2 Glock 21 – and all I can say is what a rush!!
Yep – converted it to 460 Rowland – drops you right in the middle of 44 Magnum performance levels with 13 plus 1 capacity – Bambi beware!!
The compensator combined with a steel guide rod and a 22 pound recoil spring makes the recoil manageable – believe it or not !! There is however quite a bit of muzzle blast !!
The compensator is threaded on the barrel – with loctite – then the set screw goes in against a flat milled on the bottom of the barrel – again with loctite – so it is sorta semi-permanent – so I kinda had to buy a second Glock 21 – I mean they are a great platform for the 45 acp as well as I have a second conversion barrel to run in it as well.
Not going to bury you in a pile of stats but I will link to this from Mrgunsandgear – Enjoy!!
Makes cleaning a little tedious but it sure is fun getting it dirty
Here is a couple of Underwood Ammo’s offerings in 460 – Let’s put this in perspective – 45 acp sends a 230 grain bullet down range at about 800 feet per second – 460 at about 1400 feet per second – OH MY !!
At this point it is a single shot – the slide cycles so fast that the stock magazine spring cannot push the next round up so the lug on the underside of the slide can strip it!! Just WOW. Gotta grab an extra length/strength magazine spring – had ought to be real fun riding the recoil and trigger reset with this beastie – HEH HEH
Had to pick up a second Glock 21 so I could run the barrel on the right in it – really don’t want to strip down the 460 every time I want to run my 40 Super.
Glock 20 ( 10 mm ) is real impressive especially when running full power ammo – 10 mm is a significant level of performance over 40 S&W – even plus P ammo!
40 Super ( 10 mm is 40 caliber is 10 mm ) is an OMG level of performance over 10 mm!!
All the stuff
You need a Glock 21 – Barrel and guide rod with a 24 pound recoil spring – makes racking the slide interesting !!
The 40 Super is based on the 45 Winchester Magnum case – the webbing at the base of the case is thicker than a 45 acp case – 45 acp case rupture occurs at 40 Super pressures – NOT a good thing – especially if you are holding on to the pistol – it is a VERY energetic reaction – the end result is usually large pieces of pistol departing from the immediate area at high velocities – commonly called a “Kaboom” –
The 40 Super gives a whole new meaning to “recoil impulse” – I don’t understand – I can’t con – I mean talk anybody else into shooting it !! LMAO !!
In my Sig 1911 post I pointed out the major difference between the Sig and RIA 1911’s was the recoil spring – – –
and a small weight difference – 2.6 oz more total weight for the Sig. The weight difference was not enough ( in my thinking ) to explain the “feel” between the two.
So I ordered this . . .
A flat wound recoil spring – one piece GI style guide rod – recoil buffer – which I didn’t use. Burned a hundred rounds of Winchester White Box – 230 grain Hardball – Other than literally point shooting – I focused everything on recoil impulse differences between the two pistols.
Two mags through the Sig
Then three through the Rock Island – then changed the recoil spring and guide rod in the RIA.
Shot the remaining rounds through the RIA ( two five round runs through the Sig )
Quite a noticeable difference in recoil impulse for the RIA – except for the hardware differences – memory bump on the Sig grip safety and the differences in the grips – close enough I can’t tell the difference!!
I would not have imagined a flat wound recoil spring would do that – the recoil was not bad on the RIA – it was “different” – now they are virtually the same.
And yes I did hang targets because folks look at you really strange if you just dump a hundred rounds down range at nothing – LOL – dumped the last four rounds out as fast as I could run them – all targets were @ 10 yards..
An attempt at a 3 and 1 – maybe I should grab about 5000 rounds and go hide out in the woods and get that point shooting edge back again ! – LMAO – point shooting is a whole different game and lot faster than anything else out there ( think cowboy action quick draw – point shooting at its best!! ) – but – it takes a bunch more practice to get to an acceptable level of accuracy and then you have to really bust your ass to stay proficient – I just don’t have the time to shoot 4 to 6 to 10 thousand rounds to get there and then a 1000 – or more – rounds a week to stay there – Oh Well . . .
Gonna be adding more picture pages over the next week or so to the USS Alabama post so keep checking back – and more “stuff” besides coming up . . .
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
I mentioned in my 642-2 post I was thinking about ordering a spring set for it. (the 642) Well I did and – wow – here it is !!
Just that quick – will swap out Thursday and then grab a box of carry ammo and give it a try – actually have time today but I don’t want to cut into my nap time . . . . I need my beauty sleep – heh heh
Not going to do a whole bunch of how to do picture things with the swap – not when I can drop this link to Mr guns and gear – great video showing the swap process!!
He does a real good job explaining it and you get a video to watch – and if you haven’t run across him before – by all means check out his channel – real good stuff!!

One of the best sites on the internet for Star history is right here – I am not going to copy and paste a bunch of stuff from his site – If you want to really get into Star and their “stuff” I urge you to follow the link – get a bowl of popcorn – and enjoy the read.
In a nutshell – Star started making a 1911 style pistol ( what most folks would consider a “modern” firearm ) with their model 1920 pistols – and continued until 1993 – 73 years worth of some really interesting designs and models. One of the reasons I’m doing this NOW is there is a whole bunch of these in 9mm showing up on the surplus/used market at some decent prices. I have seen them as low as $ 179.00 plus shipping. ( the owners manual above is the model that is currently available in good quantities as of this posting )
Let’s take a look at the little darling we have here –
A Star SS model – The first S denotes caliber -.380 acp – The second denotes “Safety” – in this case a magazine disconnect was added as a model change.
Proof Marks – the top proof mark indicates acceptance at the proof house . . .
The next one indicates passing proof tests . . . but no date code??
It is my understanding with no date code in the proof mark the pistol was headed for the civilian market – the military market pistols would have a date code in the proof mark. But please realize I don’t understand all of what I don’t know about these proof marks!
The third is I 2 – which indicates a 1989 year of manufacture . . .
There are no other factory crests or marks on the pistol – import stamp is Interarms
These are really nice pistols – essentially a mini 1911 – with no grip safety and a magazine disconnect – but pretty close copies of the 1911 – Let’s take a look!!
Breakdown is the same as a 1911 – just that simple . . . How much similarity to a 1911 does it have ?? The next picture really shows it. . .
Star 380 is on the top – Full size government model on the bottom . . . the Rock Island is a GI full size – sights changed out to tritium night sights and G10 arched main spring housing and magwell grip set are the only changes – all the kibbles and bits sure do favor each other . . .
Recoil spring assemblies . . .
Except for size difference the bushing set up is the same . . .
Star brought the frame beaver tail back a little further to make up for no beaver tail on a grip safety . . .Obvious size and weight differences . . .
Rock Island loaded with 8 plus 1 of 230 grain ammo – 45.5 ounces – almost 3 pounds of steel framed 1911 goodness – OH MY!
Star .380 loaded with 8 plus 1 of 95 grain ammo – 25 ounces – there are a lot lighter .380 pistols on the market but the weight along with the 1911 pattern makes for a very soft shooter – and with the “thumb shelf” grips really easy to grip and point – but they kinda screw up the south paws out there . . .
Next are some shots with the government model – there is a considerable size difference – the Rock Island is a straight up hand filling 1911 goodness – You just gotta love 1911’s – the Star feels very good as well but switching back and forth between them the Star is almost dainty or delicate feeling . . .
Let’s try to wrap this up, OK? Really fun shooter – I was playing with it one day and burned up just short of 3 boxes of ammo – 140 rounds worth – sweet – had no issues with round nose – flat point – hollow points – ate them all without so much as a hiccup – the weight combined with the 1911 pattern makes it fun to shoot .380 – Keltec P3AT on the other hand – 25 or so rounds and you are about done for the day – almost an abusive level of recoil but very concealable – light weight – tiny – but not a fun range gun.
Concealable ? The hardest part would be finding a good holster – trust me on that one .
With the right holster almost anything is concealable . . . the Rock Island pictured here is my normal carry gun . . .
But with the right holster? – Sure – Would you want to (?) is another question – parts availability is always an issue with firearms that are no longer in production and more so with a lot of the imports. Shoot it long enough and it will break.
Available?? You just don’t see these much in pawn shops any more – once in a while you see the take down lever models but they just don’t have the same charisma as the mini 1911 style in my view.
Next range trip with this I will try to get some pics and hopefully some decent video and get it up here for you!!
Have Fun! – Run the Gun! – and remember – Fish Heads are Cheap!!
And if those three don’t give you a genuine – eye opening come to Jesus What in the Fuck kind of drugs are these people ingesting??? moment this next one probably will . . .
Please take the time to read – you can start here with WIKI then go to DuckDuckGO.comand peruse – these fucks ARE coming after YOU – and for them it is a holy cause – their mindset really reminds of the jihadist’s thought processes – except the want someone else to hunt you down and kill you – maybe they can work out a deal with the jihadist’s – they probably work a lot cheaper than pension whores – excuse me I mean police officers . . .
And remember – that 5000 + rounds of ammo you buy today may be needed tomorrow !
